Me: Reading through your ridiculously long OP, and saw the $9k value. I thought stocks had gone up and the stars were in alignment so I put my car on Craigslist today. It sold for 8500.

    What a deal.

    Thanks for your insight.

You shouldn't have reported it to the insurance company, they don't want to lose money so of course their going to total out your car. If it was mine, I would take the loss, buy a decent used engine and drop it in. Sh!t, my old Monte Carlo was on it's 3rd engine when I sold it.

If i ever blew my motor, the last thing i would think is to report it to the insurance company...hell a low mileage L26/36 goes for less than $600. Doing the swap isn't all that bad either...

why would u pay that much for a brand new motor, when u can get a low mileage one for fraction of that cost. unless u got money to spend like that... i paid 600 and some change for mine.

    Dude.

No offense, but you need to wake the F' up.

Or just give me all your money, and I'll spend it correctly.

I had to put in 2004, no 2003 SC mill for some reason. 2003 showed 3.1 only, not much help unless you want an econo-express. Arrrrrrrr!!
