So since I got my GTP in November I have had no overdrive. I have been looking for a good tranny since last month with no luck for a good price. Junk yards want $500 and up so I said screw that I will keep my eye for a parts car. Anyways I found a craiglist listing for a 2000 GTP with blown motor for a $1000. Call the guy and talk about his blown motor. Says his radiator hose blown up driving down the highway and it overheated and stalled. Ask about the tranny and he swears it was perfect. So I offer $500 sight unseen and have my tow truck driver go get it for me.
Let me tell you... this thing is mint. The interior is mint with the exception of the driver's seat is beat up on the outside edge from getting in and out. The back seat doesn't look like anyone ever sat in it. All the grey buttons through the interior are like new. Headliner, everything is mint. The body is mint as well. The bumper was sprayed painted silver but no dents or scratches. The torque stars are mint.
The car is unmolested except for a open cone intake. Still has factory tape player and 12 cd changer in the trunk.
The car does run but overheats and stalls. So while it was cold I did whip it down the street to make sure the tranny was good and it did shift great. Only thing I noticed driving it, was a sway bar link clunk noise from the right front.
Was planning on stealing the tranny but now I'm gonna stick my motor in it and register it.
Check it out.
