yeah, sorry to hear about this, but I deffinetly With above, remover the external from its case(its just a regular 3.5 in drive in there 99% of the time) and hook it into your desktop PC, also there may be data restoration programs available, I've even seen windows try to repair a corrupt drive..... If you put the drive in your pc, make sure the jumper is correct.....

It would work 100x faster in the pc than via usb
