his point is that you cant run a top swapped car without tuning it. you can run a motor swap because you can use the PCM, but with that comes the dog-esque low compression bottom end. in all seriousness, i liked how the GT actually had a little pep out of boost. i regretted that l67 block forever.

That's why I'm leaning toward an engine swap, I'd love to have the higher compression and more power but at the same time I have no experience at tuning and I don't really know anywhere around here that will tune it.

the l67 block feel okay commanding 22* of timing up to about 4 pounds of boost. because ran so much timing at part throttle on my car and such low timing at full boost since i ran too small of a pulley it felt better at part throttle.

    its all in the tune.

We'll see what I do, theres a little racing shop beside my brothers office, I know they have a dyno so I'll ask them I guess. The only car's I ever see over there are mustangs and 3000GT's

Intense does a decent topswap tune, 99prix has been running their mail-order tune since his swap just fine. If you can get a custom tune you'll have a little more power, but a mail order topswap tune is still better than an l67.

Honestly you'll get \ make more power with a Top Swaped GT. There are people who can tune these car's all over the USA don't be afraid to do it. Yes it might be the in thing to do presently but who cares.

I care because it's slow! I swear my girfriends GA GT with a 3.1 would out run it.

If worst comes to worst, can't you drive the car to someone near-by with the super belt off on the stock L36 tune granted you grandma it?

but with a good conservative tune i bet you could run a 3.2 on the stock timing tables.

No doubt, im just saying that you dont always need a tune just more supporting mods.

But wouldn't it be safer to get a tune first? I'd pull the motor to do the top swap so I'd deffinatly do headers, rockers all that good stuff. I still haven't found anywhere in NC that does tuning, I'm sure theres a ton of places but they don't advertise it any. I'm starting to find most of the bigger parts though.... 97-01 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP heads
