Very sad, but the office was the only one to blame there. Doesnt seem like he used any training that he learned, all he did was screamed instead of taking taking action and stopping that man.

Thats horrible... I have to say in that situation it would have been a kill shot as soon as i recognized the carbine... side arm vs assault rifle = kill shot via side arm... Military trained personnel are trained not to draw unless they plan to use it so its, he drew and i was afraid for my life, he was trained to use it and i knew he was going to... and like said previously... let god handle him
and yes the justice system is fubar, but trust he and his lawyers will get the treatment they deserve soon enough.
Sickening. ^^ Dittos to what TLSheff says, above.
But the cop appears to have let the situation deteriorate steadily and obviously.
No pepper, no taser? That guy is not getting into his truck as long as my legs work.
And one good shot is better than 10 poor ones.
This is a sickening tragedy. Hopefully the department has a lessons learned policy, and other officers here will do better with first-shot hits.
As for our judicial system, it's insane that you could appeal for 10-20 years on a clear murder case like this. This man was deliberate, he probably did the little dance knowing there was a dashcam going and he could use it later as defensive ammo.
I am aware some killers will spend the rest of their lives on the forensics unit of a state psychiatric hospital.
Years ago I met a pair of obvious forensics-unit fakes. They had played the system and stayed out of prison. Their "therapists" were a couple of the most gullible, clueless people I've ever met.![]()
