My assumption is that you are probably fresh out of high school and don't have a house payment and bills to pay. You haven't been welcomed to the real world where if you don't do what it takes, the repo man comes and puts locks on your house and tows your car. Your life gets turned upside down and you have no choice but to file bankruptcy ending in law suits, terrible credit, making it even harded to find a job because your would be employer runs a credit check on you before he hires you. Then you look irresponsible and lose out on the job. Nonetheless if you have children how hard it could be to just keep the lights on and food on the table.

Sometimes when you're laid off for long periods of time, unemployment isn't enough. I tend to look down on those who are on welfare and are too lazy to work and mooch off the government than those who have lost their jobs and are collecting unemployment and HAVE to work a side job to keep from losing their homes and vehicles because jobs paying more than their unemployment are non existent. To make a long story short. Let's say you work as a crane operator which pays $29.90/hour. Work was excellent for years until you get laid off at the end of 2008. The work isn't there right now! Say you draw max unemployment at $376/week. If you get a job making $10/hr, in the end, it will pay you less than unemployment after taxes. So, If you take that $10/hr job, you work for free, and the bills don't get paid and you lose your house or vehicles. Hardly screwing hard working people. That's hardworking people doing what it takes to keep from losing every thing they've worked for. Lazy ass people on welfare are screwing the hard working people in this country. JMO. Sorry for the vent! lol Some people just haven't ever seen a stack of bills and had to find a way to pay them.

I am fine with unemployement for people who can't find work. There is nothing wrong with that. People fall on hard times, it happens, I understand. I don't like it when someone claims unemployment but works under the table. They have a job, but are still getting unemployment. That is what gets me.

well how bout u start by gettin that ice cream cone and see how everything goes from there, and the idea of puttin it up for sale but not actually selling it to see wat offers u get is a good idea that way when ur ready to make ur move that u make the best move possible. or if u do get a job u havn't sold anything.

As what was said before. Sell the toys to keep afloat, you can have time for that some other time.

As for what you sell, thats on you. Honestly though, the car thats worth the least and will get you the least amount of money in the end will be the GTP. Even with super low miles there not worth anything unless its a 98 Daytona Pace Car and even thats not worth that much. Gotta find the right buyer or a true W-body fan. As for the GTP mods, good luck selling those too, resale on aftermarket parts for this market sucks. Basically you won't get much selling the GTP and the mods. The valuable vehicles are your LS powered ones. If you want to keep those and your not motivated on the GTP, thats the obvious first car that needs to go. Just keep in mind, you're not gonna get anything for it i'm sorry to say UNLESS you find the RIGHT buyer which is few and far between.

If someone lived off unemployment as their sole income, that's different. I am talking about doing what it takes to make bank until their job comes back or they find an equivalent, legitamate job. Unemployment only lasts so long. 12-18 months max with the fed extensions. Welfare is a lifetime. Just down to the bone, hardcore, lazy mofos who tend to live off the government and taxpayers indefinately.

I plan on taking the week off, and headn back to Ohio to visit friends and have fun for New Years... I plan on making a decision when I come home. naturally when I go back in Columbus... I'll put some resumes out... just in case I can find work back out there.

Its a hard decision... I had a BLAST driving my s10 around town. thing was flyn on a 300shot. did 3 wheelies on the street, one with a buddy in the car. I'm just so frustrated. I leave for Ohio in 4hrs and I cant get any sleep over this.

lol, glad you stopped me. Good luck with your situation. I hope it all works out for the good and welcome back to Ohio! Ohios economy isn't all that bad unless you're in the construction trades. Construction is worse than in the tank. More like in the cesspool of the sewage treatment plant.

well i have a fiero sitting outside with a 3.8 in it, love the car but more issues/problems/money that i expected, Im currently trying to get rid of it even tho its my dream. I have different long term goals than most people tho, i plan a relocation to another country after my contract runs out in mid summer. The fiero cost quite a bit of change to get to a point that i like, and it is still costing money and is not DD capable. Only bonus of the fiero, NO FAT CHICKS.

Rockford is a ***** to find work!!! leave this town and go to chicago.

yes, in my shoes i have determined that a possible exodus to another country may be needed, i have my passport, just waiting on the visa and my work contract to end, then off to thailand, for 3months-year, and maybe longer. its a second world country so its similar to the US in the 50-60s and they need network techs. The people are nice, the food is awsome, and the women are near perfect. i dont think i need to mention much more than that, i would recommend some of you look into other countrys for work, if thailand is a no go, then i will attempt veitnam, and then later australia. and many more.
