Why does it take so much money to squeeze out minimal hp for our cars? I mean you throw an exhaust on a camaro and its 20 more whp. wtf are our cars just so beastly already that you cant do much else? and adding a supercharger creates ~50whp for a gt correct? Well why can you supercharge a stock 4.6 litre mustang and gain 150whp. And dont say you cant ive seen the tests and numbers. So what gives???

rmm more cubes=more power from mods..you are flowing more air, the more air you flow more power you make.....the more cubes you have the more hp you will make by adding or freeing up air flow..maybe..I could be wrong!

Also there is more of a NEED for the air flow......as in the stock cfm intake of our car is not as much as an ls1, and well the actual intake system flows the same (theoretically) well since the ls1 car NEEDS more are to feed the cubic inches we have it is choking it down more than a smaller motor.

this cannot be a serious question. do you know anything about cars?

EVERY car is different and takes different thing to make it run right. most of the "performance" cars out there are made a little on the conservative side and with a little tuning and extra parts they can be monsters. a grand prix never was and never will be a "performance car".

well I do know a bit about cars but im not a self proclaimed guru, *cough cough*, and you think our cars arent conservative? Um u-bend, 107mph speed governer? And if this was an economy car it wouldnt have a 3.8 litre v6. Most people who dont know alot about gm dont even beleive they made 6 cylinders that big....so please explain to me the intermost workings of our cars bio, and why they are so restrictive. Cause youve taken abart a 3800 right? lol
so how about a serious answer

    a) the car didnt come stock with an intercooler and the blower should be renamed a "heaton" because the efficiency of our blowers is just moronic.

    b) the u-bend has got to be the stupidest idea on the planet

    c) the horrifically low compression ratio these cars come with is just stupid

    d) the car n/a makes 180 hp at the crank. you NEED boost to make these cars fast. that being said, there are only a few ways to go about it.

    e) the car was purposed to be a family sedan with a little pep, in stock form they pushed the car nearly to its limits which you can see how the car knocks from the factory

do i need to go on? our car wasnt meant to be made fast or make big power. the cars youre referencing to, a camaro and mustang, are made to be fast cars.

Depends on the car. Dollar for dollar mod for mod our cars are actully pretty good and cheap to do if you stay away from places that have huge markups on simple **** (ZZP for example). There are many who will agree with me on this too. These cars are a hell of a lot cheaper to build that many out there. Theres a good reason why I still play with mine than my LS2 sitting in the garage. Not to mention, these cars can be had for CHEAP. I wish this option was availible to me back in high school, I would of had the fastest/cheapest car in the parking lot.

I think you need to do some more shopping and compare some prices. You'll be surprised what you find. GP is a good back for your buck. A good built tranny is pricey, but compare a built tranny/rear end on a RWD vehicle the prices come pretty close in the end.

I mean you throw an exhaust on a camaro and its 20 more whp.

Depends if its an LT1 or LS1... I will say an LS1 F-bodies exhaust is way more restrictive than ours even with a u-bend. I can see a good gain there. Start pricing a full exhaust and long tubes on one of those, quailty ain't gonna be cheap I'll tell you that.

Well why can you supercharge a stock 4.6 litre mustang and gain 150whp. And dont say you cant ive seen the tests and numbers. So what gives???

150 WHP? Ummmm, I kinda doubt that. And if anything it wasn't on pump gas, it was on race gas and the boost turned up high. And not to mention all the supporting mods too such as headers/full exhaust, fuel pump, injectors, etc etc. Not as cheap and easy as you make it out to be. Yes i've been around a Pro-Charged 4.6 before too, takes more than just bolting on an S/C. If it was that damn easy, the grave yards would be full of more teens.

Argue with me all you want but the fact of the matter is, dollar for dollar mod for mods these cars are a real good bang for the buck. Especially for how cheap you can get a hold of one nowadays. Oh well, I don't know anything anyway

Cheap, Fast, Reliable. You can only pick 2 dont care what kind of car your talking about. Just boost the little V6 for a fairly cheap price. compare the new Ecoboost V6 from Ford, or the Direct injection 3.6 thats in the CTS and the new Camaro both make over 300 but use Direct Injection. Fords EcoBoost is almost the same but use a turbo to make like 365 in the new SHO. My point is the tech in those engines are what like 10 15 years newer? BTW DI engines make great hp/milage.

But require much more expensive fuel injectors and fuel system in general. Fuel lines have to be as strong as brake lines, and the pump? Have fun replacing that.

i'm surprised i don't to be honest. there isn't a whole lot of street racing that goes on around where i live but there's a lot of people that make you wonder how they have their license. not to mention the douchebags that try to get to 60 between stop signs paying no attention to the 2 year old playing with a ball on the sidewalk.

I donno about that. Its not that hard to make a 12 sec pass out of one of these. Depending on the route you take you can do this without swapping the cam too. Some cars it takes ALOT OF MONEY to run high 12s.

These cars gain about as good as alot of other motors out there. These ain't LSX motors here.

Why don't you do a top swap or something to your STOCK GT w/ 3" exh? Otherwise go buy something that will gain a 150 HP with one mod (so you think) and be happier?

You can't ***** much until you actully do some wrench work on your car, judging by your signature you've done absolutely nothing on this platform. Not being a dick, just being honest with you...
