Thread: It's going to be a long night

so i was out skateboarding today when i rolled back to my car i noticed that the wheel camber looked weird( i had not dropped my car yet and it had a perfect alignment) so it was kinda weird to see this would around 9 tonight, so i get home and the wheel along with the rotor was moving and i did not know why... so i went to investagate at first i thought that maybe then cv axle bolt wasn't tight but that wasn't the problem so i digg deeper to find out that the front hub has been replaced and that the lazy *** people who did it only put one bolt back into it so i have one freaking bolt holding my whole hub on... i am pissed and i just had to post about so i could vent alittle, so all i can really say is DONT BE A LAZY GUY WHEN IT COMES TO THAT KINDA STUFF because if i wouldn't had known anything about cars or even noticed it could have came out and really messed my car up, and im pretty sure that i would have rolled my car if that was to happen because it would be my whole tire trying to fly off, well off to go to the 24 hr auto store to try to find some bolt cuz i got work at 6 in the morning

if it was a shop, take some pics so you can report them / sue for $$$

wow that is actually a really good idea, can i really do that ? i'm not really sure what shop did it because i just bought the car about a month ago from a little shop/dealer ship and they even said it passes safety inspection with flying colors... they even did the safety inspection and changed the front brakes on it... any more info on how i would go about suieing them, or if i could would be very helpful because i'm going to have to miss work tom. to fix this problem

and go after the dealer that sold it to me ?

I always buy my cars without any warranty to make the price cheaper. I do my own work anyway, so I don't care. And when I buy a car, I always go over it in great detail. Look over everything and check for things like this. So I wouldn't even consider suing anyone. Its a used car, not new.

But it is possible that they put all the bolts back in but didn't get them tight enough.

And if it was that loose, you should have felt a rumble or a clunk because the hub was so loose. This should have been your first indication.

granted it is a used car, but most people should no better than to not put 3 outta 3 bolt in for a front hub, this is excactly why i never take my stuff to shops, also i did adress this problem with i dealer that i bought it from, i told then something with the brakes didn't feel right and the steering felt funny, they just lifted it up took off the tires, checked the ball joints and the tie rod ends, and just told me NOPE THERE AREN'T ANY PROBLEMS EVERYTHING IS NICE AND TIGHT, so..... and when i am checking out a car to buy i can never see those bolts, to much stuff in the way, and they might have been lose but i do understand how 2 would come out when the top one was obvisiously tightened hardcore (well until it cam lose)

Just playing devil's advocate here. Sure the shot told you there was nothing wrong. But you said yourself you don't trust shops to do your work. So why would you trust them this time? If something didn't feel right, shouldn't you have either taken it somewhere else, or checked it out for yourself?

Again, just posing some questions.....

i'm trying to locate the bolts for in now i have i feeling that it from from coming into work late into a whole day project, since i dont have a back up car anymore, well when i bought the car i had a 30 day warrenty so i figured just let them check it out and see what they say, they thought that it was a bolt lose connecting the sub frame to the body and i was like whatever thats not it, when i test drove it you could not tell there was a little wabowl and you couldn't see the tire looking like it had negative camber switching to positive camber, needless to say i think they knew about the problem and just impacted the **** outta that bolt, but i would never actually pay for this shops services ever!!!! but i understand where you are coming from about all the questions

well i have already fixed the car now 5 hrs later after having to track down parts, then i also discovered that the brake capiler was leaking from the hose fitting cuz the bolt was loose, well... i knew that this shop really didn't know anything whenever they tried to tell me that brake pads have springs.... i just looked and them like they were idiots.... then they told me that they would have to drop the entire exhaust to tighten me e-brake, hench the fact i will and would never take my car there i was actually thinking about turning them into the better business bureau...... any thoughts ?

That just sucks. I cannot believe people would do that. Its not that hard to put those bolts in there. They gottem out, so they had to know.

yea i think that is why i am so mad about it, i mean that was a major safety issue

For those of us that are local, how about giving up the shops name so we can warn our friends.

good idea the dealership is called Carriage Auto Sale and The shop is named Campizze( i don't really know how to spell the shop name but the dealership and the shop are at the same place) so i would say stay away from that dealership

I've not heard of them and we moved to STL in 1963. There's evidently a reason. I'll definitely keep that shop name in the back of my mind, in case someone mentions them though. Thanks.

Not a problem my man, hopefully this works I'm mobile and I'm not sure if it will go threw, anyways yea its a little hole in the wall dealership, but just watch out for them, also when is the stl going to get together and do something ?
