alright guys, currently my subbie has a wingless trunk.

    it currently looks like this:

on NASIOC they have a trunk trade thread and i wanted to set my car off a little bit and give it a little more flash by having a trunk with a wing. however, i do not have an STi or a hood scoop so i always figured that the smaller WRX wing would look good on my car and give me what im looking for. so far only one guy has answered me back with the exact color and is willing to trade straight up for my trunk lid, but he has the STi wing. so here are the comparison shots in my color to show you the difference.

    WRX wing:

    STi wing:

do you think i should go for the STi wing? i do plan on putting some black wheels on it at some point (probably 18s), tinting it, an axle back exhaust, and MAYBE lowering it ever so slightly if i can find some springs that i wouldnt mind using.

so what are your thoughts guys? you think i can pull off the big STi wing on my car with my look? i for one think its too big, but i would rather have a wing than not have one. the guy even said he would drive to my house to trade the trunk lids.

The STI is more in your face and aggresive, but both would work for the car. Personally I don't really dig the 22B but I've always liked smaller wings so my vote would be one makes it look more clean.

+1 for smaller, unless you go turbo... but my question is why buy a wing if you are unemployed

He's got a job interview last I heard.

Another vote for the smaller. Even if I had the STi, I wouldn't want that massive wing.

plus he is swapping the trunk lid with someone... it will prob cost little to nothing. and id say go for the small one if anything. the sti wing should only be on sti's... and maybe they should even take them off

There is nothing wrong with the wing I just don't think it would fit with the look he is going for.

The STI wing looks too over-the-top, even or a real STI. On a non-STI, you'd look like a poser with hideous taste.

The WRX wing looks good. It's also subtle enough to look good without looking like you're trying to impersonate a faster car.

If you get either one, ditch your third brake light in the rear window. Having both lights (spoiler and window) says "I was too lazy to switch over the wiring after installing my spoiler." Half-assed mods never make a car look better.

got an interview tomorrow, but this would cost me pretty much nothing even if i did it. the guy with the STi wing wants to trade straight up and id even get his trunk struts with it.

thats just what i needed to hear. i want the smaller wing just for something on my car to make it a little less plain looking, but i think the STi wing is just huge for no reason.

I would go with the smaller wing. My buddy has a wrx and I like the looks of it more than a sti. If I end up looking for an sti I am going to try and find a limited one with the smaller wing.

buttt if you traded for the larger one it would be easier to find someone with a smaller wing looking to trade up to the sti wing. just a thought

I don't know. I like both wings. I do think the sti is a little big but the factory did put it on there. Its kinda like back in the day when they put that huge wing on the daytona's. Course I guess that actually served a purpose but u know. Go for the wrx wing
