Yeah, I know that's what I meant. I don't see any reason why people would want it dimmed... In my post before I wrote about how the knob always seems to somehow get switched to the leftmost pos, turning on the maplights and everything when it seems like you haven't touched it the whole ride. Then when you get out and go to lock it the interior lights don't go out.![]()
How about driving out in the country where the only light you see comes from your headlights and your dash lights? In those cases, the dash lights on full might be a tad much. They'd ruin the contrast available to your eyes.
Whats even worse than the knob leaving the lights on is when you turn on the map light and when you open the door, its the exact same brightness so you can't tell if its "on" or not. Thankfully it turns off after 10 minutes.
Well, I live out in the country so that's where I normally drivebut I see what you're saying. And that's what I meant with the map lights, like when they get turned on and you don't realize it. And then you get out and hit the lock button and when they should normally go out, they stay on. Happens to me all the time...
i dislike the fact that its on jack stands more than all 4 wheels
1) FWD
2) 4T65E Trans SUCKS!!!
3) Auto
4) Spark Plug area
5) and I defently hate 3rd gear lol
1st and 2nd gear is awesome though.
love the body
love the motor
hate the boost gauge that simply tells you bars...
hate the transmission
hate the weight!
hate the stupid stock exhaust tips -__-
I hate the small spoilers that come on most of them they have wide rear ends with a smaller spoiler that comes stock i think they would look better if they made somethin bigger to fill out the back more
the first post said it all. i am obsessed with havin good lighting on my car, i hate yellow glare, and the headlight design and foglight bulbs on these things piss me off so bad!!!!!!!!!! headlights just scatter the crap everywhere excpet where u need it, and when u actually do a proper alignment, they are not in the same position, noticable to someone like me. i hate that!!! and ****, those 27 watt bulbs?? i think my flashlight is brighter. other then that, only thing i dont like is that they didnt offer a manual, and that its front wheel drive. and only 240 hp.
The tranny is already barely able to handle the torque these things put out stock. Reliability is one thing GM has in mind when designing these things.
Another issue is GM designs for 87 octane for anything they can.
I guess we can all agree GM is pretty cheap when it comes to design these days.![]()
the fact that I have just bought it 3 weeks ago and have already put just as much into the car as what I paid for it, Im very anal when it comes to leaks and spots on my driveway so I had all the gaskets replaced and had a new upper manifold installed and a tune up and flushed the system of the awful dexcrap gm uses in their cars. I have had my toyota highlander for 2 years and it has never needed anything done to it besides routine maintanance, needless to say I dont hink I will buy another gm product after this one, I keep hearing these motors are bullet proof, and have yet to find any truth to that.
About that dexcrap, I just did the LIM gaskets on my 2000 and it had the orig coolant in it. Let me tell you there was not one spot of rust or corrosion anywhere in the entire cooling system after 143,000 miles. The gaskets for the LIM were designed by someone who has never used an automotive gasket in there life.
GM is not the only manf that uses DexCool. And second, DexCool is perectly fine as long as the system never runs low and it is changed out when needed. A friend of mine who is a GM World Class Technician, not many are this, has educated me on DexCool. Too much to list here. I have had it in 4 cars and never an issue.
My 99 had the original Dexcool 130,000 miles and I just changed it out. The radiator was completely clog free and fine, the hoses were not degraded, just 10 years old and my UIM gasket was not degraded away either. I changed the UIM and gasket since both were original though. Lots of BS out there and DexCool to this day.
I have to agree with you though, I too thought my 3800 would not have a well known issue like UIM gasket and manifold issues. Very disappointing but lucky I could do the job myself.
