Any version of the LS9, detuned or not, will not make it into the Camaro. You do know it costs over $15k to produce, right? That would put the Camaro way beyond its targeted price point.

It would more likely be the LSA from the Caddy CTS-V, which is quite different internally than the LS9 (cheaper to produce, as a result).

According to my GM source it is the LS9. Could be they change their minds at production time, who knows, but since it's not ever going to be produced anyway it's kinda of a mute point.

An LS9 Camaro would be close to $45k MSRP if not more. It's not going to happen, since they just can't produce the LS9 any cheaper. The LSA is almost as powerful, but much more realistic in terms of production pricing since it's in the Caddy CTS-V. But you're right, it's moot. They can say anything they want since they know it isn't happening.

    2nd definition:

An issue regarded as potentially debatable, but no longer practically applicable. Although the idea may still be worth debating and exploring academically, and such discussion may be useful for addressing similar issues in the future, the idea has been rendered irrelevant for the present issue.

Underneath is the 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V-8 that also powers the Cadillac CTS-V.

I hate to say I said so, but I said so.
