i don't understand why you want to take the pan off, your doing all this work for nothing... put those bolts back in and try cranking the motor by hand, if it dosen't move the motor is seized period. If it does crank then do a leak down test and compression test check your spark plugs, coils etc... did you check to see if any plugs butterfled? Do u have a magnetic pan bolt?

Yup...bolt that pan back up its pointless to take off...drain your oil though IMO...that'll tell ya too. Take your plugs out and if any of the tips of them are bent then you have metal flying around in that cylinder...what all mods do you have? Were you knocking? Beating the crap out of it? That might be why...

Sounds like a timing belt snap. Did you ever replace it? MJ

yeah bro no timing belt on grand prixs... got the pan off anyways GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS GUYS.... good news is that the crank and everything is salvageable and reuseable not scored or out of round... anyways a connecting rod shattered in half and locked the motor. earlier when i said i couldnt turn the motor over by hand i wasnt trying hard enough in fear of breaking more but i freed the engine and its no longer frozen. im looking at a piston maybe? new gaskets head bolts 'random oem vaccum hose "long story" connecting rod and maybe a journal and we hope thats it. So tomarrow i have a interview at a chevy dealership =] but after im to rip the exhaust "manifiolds" blower valve covers and odds and ends stuff so we get down n dirty next week hopefully and get this bad girl up and running again. my dads buddy who works for ford said im a lucky %)$( that it didnt score or take a chunk out of my crank. man that oil pan sucked but got her done in about a hour all we used was wood and a jack no expensive toys here =]

swap the block. You can get a L36 cheaper than if you were to play fix it with your busted l67. Your going to have to pull the motor anywayz...
