Ummm..... a 'shade tree' vendor is people like myself, Farnsworth, Whitcomb, and others like that for example. People who sale products and such but don't actually have a business doing so.
Like a shade tree mechanic works on cars but doesn't do it for a living.

While that term is acceptable, I don't think I would use it to describe the vendors. When I see 'shade tree', it makes me think of 'shady'. It must be a psychological thing.
