whatever's the cheapest usually and doesnt have a reputation for falling apart. currently we have snap-on, matco and mac dealers who serve our garage

I get 58 % off matco through school so im all over it. Plus they offer a better set up then snap on for the money
And im stuffing it all in a harbor tool and freight box.
also have to talk to craftsman cause I heard they offer a school discount

What ever I find at the pawn shop that looks like is is what need or can't live with out. Or something that is worn out with a life time warranty. Man I love the mechanics that get hard up for cash! Scored a snap on breaker bar the day for 15 bucks.

craftsman. my dad has a whole garage full of tools the he'll never need or use. so anytime i need something its right there.

Snap On. I was lucky and became addicted before I got married. I had a tool budget of $80 a week for several years and they just sort of piled up. They were also priced more reasonably back then.

The only real problem I have with craftsman is there basic ratchets have sharp edges so if your really wrenchin on cars they get really uncomfortable.

Snap on tools domintated for years because they had a few really good designs that were patented sp? and when they ran up and lost the design patens sp? every one else was allowed to some what copy and improve on there designs
I use snap on daily and they are pretty decent quality,

Just dont go in there wearing any type of professional automotiv work shirt they will give you the run around on the warranty, i was just wearing a standard dickies work shirt that had a chevy bowtie on it and i had to go to the store manager to get my waranty

I got a big discount on tools when I was in school! I ended up buying like 4-5 thousand dollars of matco stuff. Most of the price was the tool boxes. There are still tons of tools that I need and want to get.

Yea between snap on and matco i can buy 15 grand in discounted tools they each have a 7500 cap amount but thats easily worth 30 grand
Im puttin all my stuff in a harbor tool box thats only 450 and honestly not that bad of a box its a 13 drawer box with liners
