So, I got a deal on a "needs work" 1995 Sea-Doo GTS Bombardier
Starter hits hard, impeller moves slightly when it tries to start, but motor doesn't turn over
It sounds like it's trying to start & can't turn over because there's a branch stuck in the impeller
I checked, the impeller looks clear...

Anyone have any insight, or ideas?
If I decide to replace the motor, do I have to stay with the 600 or 650 that's in it?
What about having to stick with a Sea-Doo motor?
I'd love to get a supercharged motor for it! (Imagine a SC3800 in it, WOW)

    Plate on the engine says:
    Bore: 2x76mm
    Stroke: 64mm
    Capac: 580,7cc

Thanks for looking, & any help you may be able to offer!

I got a reply on eBay about motor swaps
    Dear fastkatt,
oh ok, 95 580. well 580 parts are a dime a dozen or you can upgrade to a 650 or 720 without any mods. of corce you would need the matching carbs or carb to the motor you go with. I say carb or carbs because the 580 as well as the 650 and 720 comes with single carb or dual carbs from the factory depending on what year model sky is from. whichever motor you go with make sure you get the carb or carbs that go with that particular motor. as far as the electronics, all you would need to do is make sure you check the charging coil/magneto that came out of your engine or make sure the new engie has the same mag as your old one. they come with 3 or 4 wires somethimes 5 but they all have the same bolt patern. the pipe is bigger for the bigger motor but it fits in the same place so make sure you get the pipe that goes to the particular motor you go with. thre is no book that can tell you how to do this, only eperienced tinkering people can help you. but over all it's very duable and people do it all the time. after that you will also need the prop ment to go with the motor/ski you choose to go with. bigger motor, more pitch prop/impeller.

So, pulled the impeller shaft out of the block, still didn't crank
Pulled both plugs, bone dry (no water), & still no crank

All that's left is the starter & the block itself

If it comes to it, do I rebuild, get a 650, or 720?

Anyone close to Rockford that could help me out?
