Nice. I think the tires are backwards...or is that just me?
For 64K and a 40th Ed...$6K aint bad.
I just got done talking to the guy and he said it had a front end accident but he said he only had to replace the bumper and headlight, Is there anyway to make sure the motor is the same one from the factory?
Yeah i know what kind of motor it is I was like wondering if theres a way to check if its the same L67 from the factory like matching vins...If so where are the vin # on the motor?
theres an aftermarket front bumper on there! no pontiac emblem between the grills! (unless he filled the section, which i doubt!)
i'd buy it tom.! (after tires are mounted correctly)
Usually a rebuilt title means that it was purchased after a wreck and that now it has been repaired. Sometimes banks and insurance companies will not pay out the correct value if vehicle is totalled or if you go to get a loan on it. It does depend on who you deal with though. Look it over closely to make sure that they haven't taken any short cuts and check over the small stuff when you are there for a test drive(ie.....fog lights, turn signals, windshield wiper, make sure all fluids are clean and at proper levels) no body damage on the interior of the hood, no painted over areas that were not mentioned, radiator looks good(must be straight and fins in good condition) all power accessories work, etc. I just bought one from chicago and it needed some work(I knew this when I bought it, so it could have been worse.) Make sure you have no warning lights on service engine, air bags ok, etc. If it is as clean as it looks in the pics on the outside it should be a good. deal. I am not sure how it works in IL on the clear rebuilt part if they have to have it inspected or what..........hope this gives you some direction......fwiw![]()
also check for fully working A/C and tire alignment.......It may just be the pictures, or me being picky but it looks like the passenger side airbag cover has a large gap on the rear(towards passenger seat) of it. Maybe it has been replaced, if this is so it is likely that the drivers side airbag and the windshield has also been replaced.
If you can, see if they have a hoist that they can put it on and lift it up so that you can look at the underbody....oil pan, tranny, radiator and supports, suspension, etc. I know I do that when I can.
Awesome Thanks a lot for the info Liquifire...My friends dad is going with me and he works for State Farm, He can spot a wrecked car form 40 feet away lol, so he will tell me if anything is wrong, but yeah the radiator is a good idea looking at the fins and all, I think i might see if I can find a mechanic thats close by and swing by there on my test drive and have him put it up on a lift and check it out... Does anyone know how much to pay a mechanic for something like that?
I don't know.........just ask them before you do it. If the place that you are thinking about has one there, just use theirs for free.......never hurts to have another mechanic around to look at it too. You can also see if the exhaust has anything done to it(for better or worse) and also check for leaky seals.......
It can pick up stored codes - the codes themselves determine how/when they are stored. Key cycles, run time, etc etc.
