yea im sure he could ground and pound kimbo, but standing up im sure kimbo would dominate. brock dident even want to stand up with mir.
the reason i say it was staged is because ive seen kimbo take much harder hits with out even phasing him. then he took one little hit and was out. seems kinda fishy. people pay alot of money to see people like him fight, along with brock, maybe there was some betting going on who knows.
Good point. Im sure alot of money was made that night. Never actually thought about the gambling aspect. I could see the Elite owners doing that since they were already in financial trouble. Who knows, if Kimbo gets through the Ultimate fighter show, we may one day see that fight.
hes going on the ultimate fighter???? i know hes been training really hard since his debue i guess a year or so ago. all he had was stand up but hes becoming a great all around MMA fighter now. i could see him going far, hes got the drive.
Lesnar is a machine. Mir was talking crap before the fight and I loved how Brock got in his face after. Mir said before the fight that if it was a striking fight, he would win easily. I am not sure how he thought that becase Lesnar has HUGE hands and mean punches. I like Lesnar 1 because he is a wrestler( i wrestled for 14 years) 2 because he is a hard working farmboy who wasn't given anything 3 because he doesn't talk a bunch of crap, he goes out and fights, and 4 because he is a town just north of where I live.
tha UFC is not retarded actually... i mean thas ur opinion i guess... but those guys are some of tha best athletes in tha world, n where else can u see a near 300 pound man of muscle beat tha hell out of someone besides in tha movies?
besides... i have hopes of bein in tha UFC someday.
A couple of things...
1. Brock's nickname is officially "The Vanilla Gorilla"
2. The guy with the Johnny Cash tattoo... sorry, it looked awful
3. Silva would destroy GSP, GSP is great but he has to put on a lot of weight just to fight Silva.
4. Henderson knocking out Bisbing was fantastic... USA!
5. Kimbo is awful (MMA standards that is) The guy has minimal endurance, doesn't take care of his body (internals) and had a fight called when his opponent wasn't even down.
Everyone knew Mir didn't stand a chance. Brock probably weighed 40-55 lbs more before the fight. I'm not talking about weigh ins. I'm talking after they put the water weight back on.
Mad props on the speech. "Cuz Bud Light doesn't wanna pay me"
One thing that helps Lesnar alot is he wrestled in college and knows how to cut weight. It is very easy to cut 15 lbs of water to make weight. It doesn't take much for him to get back up to his natural weight. If he gets much bigger he will start getting really sucked down for weigh ins and not be able to get back everything he lost which will hurt him.
Kimbo is not good at all. There are 3 former NFL player on the next TUF. There will be another guy from SD who is on there as well. His brother was actually one for my wrestling coaches for a while.
I never wrestled but I did BJJ for about a year and dabbed in MMA. I played football, hockey, and lacrosse in high school and Rugby in college (now I play Tennis and Mountain Bike) and football was by far the roughest. However, MMA and football were very comparable in how I felt afterwards and the next day. I never broke anything in football, but tore my MCL in lacrosse. In 6 months of MMA I broke 2 fingers. My ulnar bone, reinjured my MCL, and lasting contusions... seriously.. they are just calcified now and are little hard spots all over my body.
My best friend wrestled in high school. He said "people would quit the wrestling team and join the track team" When asked why they responded "in wrestling there is too much running."
Sparring with those wrestlers was a whole nother world compared to the BJJ guys. It was freakin sparring and I never left the Gym without blood flowing out of some oriface of my body...
Props to wrestlers, I give them the edge over football players for toughness!
Haha... I've played with some Gung-Ho wild, eat breathe sleep, football guys before, but wrestlers are a different breed. Something I just didn't have a drive to continue with because of the pain it inflicted. Also I like my ears the way they are.
My injuries aren't that bad. The MCL and/or LCL are way better to tear than the ACL.
What I do now, and this may sound crazy, but I run barefoot. I never have pain in my knee anymore. Our bodies were naturally developed to work without the aid of shoes. Some shoes just do damage.
i met lesnar when he was in the WWF i got to have lunch with him in NY the mans a monster tv doesnt justify his size i know hes lost a little for the UFC but hes a monster he told me when he grew up in minn he lived on a farm and he used to have to move thick tree trunks and parents wouldnt let him in the house until he was done
i wrestled from tha age of 3 til i graduated high school n i still do some tournaments every now n then...
n yeah so far goin from top to bottom: concussed twice, broken nose, dislocated my right shoulder 3 times n separated it but it popped back in on its own twice, i jammed my left humorous bone or however u spell it into my shoulder socket so bad that it chipped some n messed up my rotator cuff, fractured my right hand i think about 5 times, broken my right thumb so bad that it almos damaged a growth plate, fractured my left hand twice, broken all of my fingers at least twice tha 3 biggest ones on each hand at least 4 times each, partiall torn an abdominal muscle, tore my right hamstring, severely sprained my left ankle to tha point where i was extremely lucky my bones didnt break, broken my right foot, n all of my toes besides tha big ones n lil ones at least 3 or 4 times each...
all from football or wrestling except for tha hamstring tear that was track... haha
n i jus turned 19 in may lmao
i also agree, i lift weights barefoot... its much more natural for your feet which directly affects tha rest of your body.
I have to so once I took off the shoes I felt a considerable difference. I also sleep on the floor sometimes. Its harder to get to sleep but I wake up feeling much better. No neck or back pains. The flat floor keeps our bodies aligned in the natural manner as opposed to a bed.
The one thing I want to do now though is get a hyperbaric tent to sleep in.
Nice list of injuries. My MCL tear wasn't even that bad because it tore right at the top, so all they did was screw it back into place. If it tore right in the middle it would've been some serious recovery time...
He actually grew up on a small dairy farm near Webster, SD.
In all my years of wrestling all I had for injuries were a sprained ankle that hurt so bad I couldn't walk for a couple days, Numerous sprained wrists, I sprained it once in a match and I never healed so it would get sprained pretty much every match for over half the season. I also had tons of bloody noses but that is it. My ears are actually in pretty good shape. The edges of them are kinda messed up but thats pretty much it. I never wore a headgear in practice so my ears would pretty much tear from my head so on the top and bottom edges they would get cuts and bleed pretty good. Everyonce in a while when I am screwing around they will tear and bleed.
