I dont know about you, but that is one radical supercharger. Not anything like I have every seen, roots or centrifugal. To say nothing of the fact its intercooled too.

Great links to the videos. I dunno about ripping off the supercharger. That thing is 'supposedly' to be in the 650hp range. We'll see though.

I am not trying to sterotype. Espcially not you John. But around here, 9 times out of 10, if you own a Vette, you are older(60+), and they usually leave their cars stock. There are a few guys around here that are quite young(20's) and have a Vette. They are Air Force and they don't know Anything about cars. It's usually just a like brand name to them. I'm surprised thay pump their own gas if you know what I mean.
Looks like John has lots of style though. Nice Hawk!!!(wanna race?)haha

Yeah, I agree w/the mostly older Corvette people (around here, anyway). I think it mostly has to do w/them being the ones who can afford them Also, most of the Vette owners I know are on their third one or fourth or even more. Seems also like the ones that are 'modded' are mid to late 80's models that someone probably picked up pretty cheap, dropped a cam in, & did some exhaust stuff to, and they're the ones you see around here driven by 23 year old kids.

Yeah, the whole supercharger thing has me freaked out. Its all kinds of weird. Goes way beyond unconventional.

as far as i can tell its just a roots blower that blows upward into an intercooler core (a newer, high flow design) <-thats the second pic

air then routes down & around the Sc'er into the intake ports.

    Its a Lysholm Design

HA ANOTHER OWNED PAGE !!! FTW!

It's the same design they used on the STS-V and the XLR-V's Supercharged N*.

The Gt40 costs even more and also has a setup that made good power stock and with bolt ons and that didnt stop people from switching to twin turboes and making over 1kwhp. Im sure alot will be left stock but then their are the performance companies out their that will want to move to something that puts them in front of the crowd in both aspects of power and creativity.

Great links to the videos. I dunno about ripping off the supercharger. That thing is 'supposedly' to be in the 650hp range. We'll see though.
People will soon max out the supercharger and want something more efficient. Im sure moving to a big twin screw will be one option and im sure the other will be a twin turbo setup. Just like the cobra guys. Their are guys that had high hp twin screw setups that moved to turboes that require less other parts to run the same power output.

Yeah especially since the Scer and intake is one cast piece thier just gonna rip it off if they want more than XXXX hp

Its kinda pointless to do that to a ZR1 though because the only thing special about the Ls9 is the Sc'er its just a SCed LS3 they would just do it for the Carbon/ceramic brakes and suspension/Tires

Speaking of those brakes those things are hands down the best things in the frickin world, think NO BRAKE FADE virually EVER and the rotor lasts the life of the vehicle!

This thing Is going to pretty much own everything but the bugatti in the strait-line and be the best handling-car with a closed cockpit.

I can already hear the tires screeching as some idiot slides it under a couple of 1-ton trucks (happened the first day the Zo6 was released a block away from the factory)

GM trots out 'Vette with 620 horses - American supercar (1) - CNNMoney.com

Two things that stand out to me.

    1. Carbon Ceramic rotors. Lifetime rotors! Yeah, its about time.
    2. Magnetic Selective Ride Control - I dont know this for fact, but I remember a special on Discovery channel a couple years ago that dealt with upcoming or futuristic automotive technologies. One of which was shocks and struts that used a material in them that replaced the normal fluid that was kinda fluid but changed with electrical current. In otherwords, the suspension was completely dynamic and near infinitely adjustable. The more current applied the stiffer the ride, but it could also be set up to apply current in a progressive way so that the faster the shock was rebounding or dampening the faster the current was applied and so gave a near perfectly consisten ride no matter the road conditions.

I dont know for fact that that is what is on the Corvette, but it sounds like it.

Have you ever seen this suspension by Bose? This vid is amazing.

    YouTube - Bose active suspension

I think this video may explain the Corvette's Magenetic Selective Ride Control, but I haven't been able to watch it yet. Videos no go on the work PC. I believe it's been an option on Corvettes for a while.
