Cause it's not.......it's a free for all.....I'm not trying to be rude but if you don't like it don't go there.
Several of us (adults) wanted a private forum where we could feel free to post almost anything we felt like without anyone b*tching about something being inappropriate for the public forum. This is also an area where we don't have to worry about threads getting locked because someone doesn't approve of the topic.
There are male and female members there and we post what we feel like posting and BTW it's not all porn... if it is tagged NWS or NSFW then it's a clue.
You have to join the group to be allowed in.....If you don't feel comfortable there then don't go in.
Like I said it's a free for all....enter at your own risk.

Yep, you're 100% correct.

I know what the section is. It needs no explaining. I just feel it degrades the site a bit in general. Whether you have to join or not, the site is still sponsoring it.

Another thing.......some members including myself were wanting a section like the "Free for All" so, it just didn't appear for no good reason.
If you would have been following the thread a little more closely then you could of voiced your oppinion then but the only posting you made to that thread was you would like to see a "Sightings" section.

Yes, I am a member of CGP but I pretty much have only posted in the classifieds and the eastern members section because you can put "sightings" in there. You mention CGP and the things that are said on there, yet GPF, who so fondly built itself around the saying "we are not the other site" now is one step closer to being like it.

To be honest I don't want this to turn into some big argument. Obviously the Mods know what they're doing, and obviously enough people are for this, but you are simply not getting the point I made and twisting my words a bit. It may be my fault as it's hard to interpret what someone says in a text setting sometimes. Basically, I never said I was against a forum like this, just more so against GPF condoning it.

I have a very diverse group of friends. I live in Maryland so it's hard not to, haha. We crack racist jokes on each other all the time. We bust each others balls so hard our faces turns red in anger, then we just say "I'm just f-ing with ya, don't need a get angry!" Typical guy humor.

I'm not going to lie, but I'm quite shocked Synthetic did allow it.

Most of us on here are adults, but there are plenty who are not. Hopefully everyone can be adults in the section. I just fear something will get said and someone will get offended, say something, get flamed for them saying something in the anything goes section, and it then dragging over onto the rest of the forum and into others peoples threads. It's already happened between 2 members. Now if they both post on the same thread they make comments about each other because they got into it on another thread.

And, what does SyntheticSheild have to do with allowing this forum? He doesn't OWN this board in the first place (people think he does, but he doesn't). I'm sure he was one of the ones against it no doubt, but obviously the majority overruled him. If he did infact own this forum and called ALL the shots, we wouldn't have it, I promise you. So he had NOTHING to do with this Free for all forum happening period.

Just let the forum live, and it will do fine no matter what you think. If you are talking about the Street Wolf situation, you sir don't know the whole story behind that, I can tell you that much because I've personally talked to him. It wasn't about anything said OFFENSIVE here, thats all I'll say. Its his deal, not mine.

I don't know who owns this board/forum it wasn't Synthetic who said he made the section it was Rocket.
I don't know what has gone from one section to another but anything in the Free for All section should stay there and not be let out on the rest of the forum.
People have to use some discretion when they post there and use good judgment and I think everyone has done so so far.
When you say GPF is one step closer to CGP I would have to strongly disagree with you on that statement. I think one of the reasons the private section was created was to prevent this forum from becoming a CGP and to keep the house tidy.
I don't see how it could hurt the forum I think it will only make it a better place.

Like I said, I hope it works out and I hope it works in a positive manner. I will be skeptical but I am the kind of person open for trying things.

I see it's a user group and that is kind of nice. I may join eventually myself as I can find it quite enjoyable. I just would have been more in favor of having a separate forum away from the grandprixforum community.

I know Rocket made the section, however, I thought everything runs through Synthetic first and he gets the final decision. Maybe I'm wrong because I don't know for sure how the chain of command on this site works and who has the rights to do what.

Why would everything have to run though Syn? It would be both of them anyway. Rocket is the owner so if anything it would have to be run buy him. But they have an admin/mod section for a reason too. I don't know the chain of command exactly, but I have an idea on how it works. If I ever have a major issue or if something goes wrong, i'm going to the main man and IMO thats Rocket. Scotty and I don't see eye to eye on damn near anything so I'd be wasting my time trying to talk to him even though he's an admin just like Chance.

Chance and Scotty are both Admins, i'm sure theres more to it than overruling each other. But I don't really care either, it is what it is and however it is works, it works and all of out admins and mods (yes i'm saying Scotty too) do a good job IMO and thats all I care about. No, i'm not being a suck ass, thats a compliment to our brass.

You accuse us of twisting you words or putting words into your mouth when you are the one who made those statements.

I know what you wrote and I know whats in there but, to a person who has not been in there and by that statement you made they would get the impression that infact there are racist remarks made in that section.

This is not a church group...it's a car forum. This is NOT the only site/forum that has a private section. The section only requires you to be a GT level member for admission and thats all.
The "Free for All" section on this forum is very tame, have you read craigslist lately?

I see where you are coming from, and maybe you're right, but I see this as borderline and can go in either section. Maybe I should have started a new thread and I didn't think it through. I truly did not realize a huge uproar would come out of this.

Am I not making it clear enough? It doesn't bother me at all to see certain things. I was simply looking at it from another perspective of how a parent of a 16 year old child would view it if their kid joined. Not that they can't just hop on any of the billions of porno sites as is. There are more reasons than this, but the point is it is not restrictive to them. I also said at least 3 times now that the Admins and Moderators have obviously thought this through, and they know a lot better than I would on how to handle a situation like that.

I understand this section wasn't made overnight. It has been in the making for a few weeks now so obviously there has been much thought into it including the Pros, Cons, benefits and so forth of the section.

Instead of just flaming me and telling me "if you don't like it then don't go in" why didn't you say something along the lines of "Despite the fact it is labeled a Free For All section there are still rules. There will be no racist remarks. The images will be ___, etc."

Seriously, I never told you guys to just "F*** OFF' but that's basically what some of you all did to me when I simply tried to talk about it.

I stated several times I believe you all are misinterpreting my words. I thought you had realized that I wasn't trying to bash, but mainly get some answers before I were to join something. Apparently you didn't, and hopefully now you will.

I setup a no rules forum for people wishing to look at porn, talk about your ex girlfriends etc. Only rules are no kiddy porn, or anything else against the law. You have to join a group for the forum to be visable. this is in your user proffile

Like I said if you had followed that thread more closely than you did then you would have read the rules and stipulations but you didn't and then you ask the question "how come the porn isn't being banned".

I wasn't flamming you when I said if you don't like it don't come in. I was just telling you what anyone else would say.

The biggest problem with what you said.....is what you said. You put porn and racism in the same sentance meaning that there is porn and racism in the section.
