No, if anything the value will go down at first...it will have to be ALONG time before its worth anything! Like my 66 Chevelle...they stopped making them and my dad said that he tried to sale it and NO ONE wanted it because they not making them anymore parts would be hard to come by. Now I have people that offer me over 10K easy had one guy offer 22K (thats the highest). But I doubt the value goes up. There is SO many pontiacs out there.

You forgot the rest of that WOW!! quote. "WOW!! Someone thought THAT would be a classic?" '84 Grand Prix is considered a classic in Virginia. But believe me, I wouldn't want one now. Only some of the Monte Carlo SSes or Grand Nationals of that body style will be worth anything.

I'd get rid of Buick. Who the hell goes out to get theirselves a shiny brand new Buick? Not even grandma! Not my g-ma anyway.
I am for real gonna cry. It takes alot to make me cry.

(If the value is gonna go up, haha I have 5 Pontiacs)
But does that mean the PARTS will be more expensive???

Thats what im more less worried about...Will parts go up? I know the 3800 motor is in most GM made cars. But with no longer having that model will the parts go up?

Yeah, they'll go up. In 10-15 years. You can Ford Escort parts just fine now. Prices didn't suddenly shoot up the past year or so since the 3800 was canceled. If you keep your car for 20 years, then you can start worrying. But in the short term, no worries.

bio248, i own a saturn too. saturns are great cars. they run forever! i beat the living hell out of my 94 saturn SW2. its been totalled and when i totalled it, the front end was completely f-ed and i drove it home 30 miles without leaking one fluid and never had a problem. so dont knock saturn. my saturn outlasted my gp. i love my gp... but my saturn is a trooper.

I'll post the letter GM sent out for anybody who didn't receive it:

I wanted you to hear directly from General Motors about an important announcement we made recently to phase out the Pontiac brand by year end 2010. As a Pontiac owner, you are part of a rich heritage and tradition that had its inception back in 1926. Pontiac has some of the best-looking, best-driving, and best-engineered cars in the U.S., and this was a particularly difficult business decision for us to make.

As a valued Pontiac and General Motors customer, I want to assure you that we are very sensitive to your concerns and needs. Pontiac will continue in operation through the end of 2010 and, following that date, you will continue to be able to receive service on your Pontiac vehicle at any Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealer. Your Pontiac vehicle warranty coverage is unchanged. Please refer to your vehicle warranty booklet for specific details on your vehicle's coverage.

As GM reinvents itself for you and our future customers, we want to thank you for your business. We will work hard to keep you in our family, providing some of the finest quality vehicles in the world.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to call our Pontiac Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-762-2737.

    Sincerely,
    Susan E. Docherty
    North American Vice President

The Chinese Buicks have very little in common with the American Buicks. GM doesn't need to keep the American Buick to sell Buicks in China any more than they need an America version of Opel or Vauxhall to sell those brands in Europe.

It don't matter...the thing still has a Buick shield on it and GM counts em...so too bad, so sad. Nothing we as a people can change...except hold on to the heritage.
