I ordered a few things from ZZP and the fuel line tool was broken, modded stock rocker pedestals had some mashed marks and the tensioner looks cracked to me. They are replacing the pedestals and fuel line tool but Tim says all of the tensioners look like the pictures. I've never seen any in this condition, although he told me all of the ones in their bin look like this. I believe they used Clovis brand. This will probably be tossed for a GM one.

it's the cracks that I'm worried about. The color is correct and even. Me and the camera FTL.

maybe I am seeing the cracks as discoloration. I know my tensioner pulley on my bravada had a line like that and it was from the molding process and it's been on there for 9 years now

The pictures are not very good. If you have macro setting on your camera, use that.

But as far as I can tell, it looks like casting marks to me. If it were cracked, you would be able to break that piece off.

I know the pictures aren't that good Sorry about that, but I took a lot and these were the best.

Both cracks go all the way around the tensioner but in very strange directions. Like a windshield crack does. As I look at it no wonder these things pop chunks off. I have a GM one on the way so a side by side may be nice.

    X2

Why so much damage on your parts when they arrived? They not put any packing in the box, or did they ship it FedEx and the box arrived beat to crap? UPS/USPS FTW!

UPS and no packing other than one rolled up piece of bulk butchers paper. The box contents - Modded stock rockers, pedestals, 105# springs (in their own box) retainers, rocker bolts, valve cover gaskets, timing chain, tensioner, thermostat. All pretty much floating around. They are the worst company for packing their stuff that I've encountered. But they are taking care of everything except the tensioner. I've only purchased 4 of these in the past and none have had these cracks, or molded markings so I was worried.

That seems odd, every time I buy from them it seems that they over package items, My 02 sensor came with bubble wrap.....But that sucks that the stuff was broken, at least they are replacing it for you,

did you buy this from their woot sale?

Yep bought during the Woot sale. I've gotten bent gaskets and a damaged spark plug and a few other messed up things from them before. This is only the second time they had to replace stuff for me though. Luckily most things are pretty durable even without proper packing.
