lol... perhaps it depends on the day your gp was built
mondays? no light
tuesdays? lights only in black vehicles
wednesdays? lights in all gtp's
thursdays? lights only in every other vehicle on the line.
friday's? lights in all vehicles, with random ones not getting them due to line workers being on break.
LOL
""well i have a 99 and the one in dash and the dic light up when perf. shift is on.""
What is the difference 98-99? i've got a 98 gtp, the bulb in the cluster was burnt out, i replaced it, it works--but how can i get the DIC to light up? is there a wire that's missing from the 98 DIC plug? or something else? and how would i go about fixing that so my DIC perf shift lights up? (everything in the DIC lights up when i turn the key, except the perf shift) how can i get that to light?
i took mine apart today and the bulbs are for the backlighting. my suspicion is that there is either a wire missing in the harness for the 98's that otherwise lights the DIC perf shift, or...i just have a bad DIC.
If anyone has their digital DIC out on their 99+ S/C'd GP (where the Performance shift works), could you tell me if there are wires in the A5, A8, or B10 pin slots. I'm largely suspecting A5 as a missing wire on the 98s that would allow the perf shift to display. if you do have a wire in that slot, could you trace it and tell me where it leads to? I realize that is a ton of work, but I would greatly appreciate the help.
Here is a diagram of the DIC plug pin positions and what they mean (thanks to backinblack) :
