Ok sooo. I found out my glow shift pressure gauge is off by about 200psi. More importantly I found out that when I connected the plug on the nitrous solenoid it pushed the contacts to the side instead of together which was creating a poor connection and causing intermittent working and when it did work it only worked in short bursts. I re made the plug although it still doesn't seem that great but I did also drop back down to the 55chp jets and my afr was still in the low 10's. I got my warmer to work and it keeps the bottle at about 920ish psi. So I'm going to throw the 75 jet in and keep the same fuel jet and see what happens.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
Its just such a pain "testing" and trying to tune this system. Even when the system isn't working the car still hits 80 in like 8 seconds. Not very many roads in the city you can do that on

Get your bottle pressure up more. 950 should be your minimum.

Hey gtp power. What size shot are you running and what would you say is a safe shot for an occasional DD use.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
I'm also experiencing a slight maybe 1/4 to 1/2 engine stutter when the nitrous first hits although I'm thinking that probably my plugs being gapped a .45 still. Can anyone confirm if that sound like it probably is a plug issue? Thanks.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
from what i've read, you should run a colder plug, like a 103, and have it gapped at like .035.

Ya I'm currently already running 103s but yeah the gap is still pretty big so I will deffinately have to shorten it up. I had also heard from multiple places that .035 seems like the go to for plug gap. Thanks for the input Marshall.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
the last set of 103's I bought were already gapped at .035, so it is kind of convenient to not have to regap. you are welcome

Hmm that's weird. I remember I actually had to close the gap a little on the 103s I got for the .045. Either way ill be ripping them out tonight and regapping. Wish me luck not tearing one of my plug wires lol.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
I don't spray anymore. But I ran up to a 175 when I did. Imo, a 75 shot is a good size to daily. You can hit it in 2nd gear on street tires without spinning. Usually.
The delay you are talking about is probably due to not having a purge. Without the purge, you'll most likely always notice that.
Also, you should be running a non-projected plug with nitrous, such as a ngk br7-ef.

I do have a purge and was using it. In going to change my plugs today. What are the equvilants to the autolite 103 s in temperature but aren't protruded like your talking about?

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
I didn't know what a non-projected plug was so I did a search:
here is an example
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/n...hoCrzQQAvD_BwE
I did notice the NGK-br7ef have a heat range of 7, so i'm not sure those are cold enough. maybe he was just using them as an example of something non-projected
Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
Ya I read they were comparable to autolite 104s so idk

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
Also I did a couple nitrous pulls 2 nights ago and I didn't get any of the hesitation I had before. My bottle pressure was a little low for those runs though so maybe with the nitrous not being as potent it didn't cause a spark problem.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
it looks like a lot of LS people use the br7ef with boost and nitrous, and the 7 is a good heat range, I just forgot how much colder it is than stock
edit for more info
Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
Wow ya "Gtp power" was deffinately right. I just pulled one of my 103's and the hook thingy is deffinately burnt/melted. Not badly but, considering ive only put maybe 1 full 10lb bottle through it its pretty bad. If I stayed with 103 s id probably have to change them every 2-3 bottles.

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
wow, try out those br7ef's and let us know how they run

Re: What's the verdict on nitrous?
The first plug I pulled with the slightly melted ground strap was on cylinder 5. So I pulled cylinder 3 plug thinking that since its the middle and hottest cylinder it would be in worse shape then the one that came from #5. Well it was in perfect condition so that's kind of weird. Ill let you know later tonight what the other plugs look like.
