Thread: Figured I'd Write A Slightly More Formal 'Adios'

Happy Trails man! I know exactly where you are coming from and you just reach a point when you are done and also agree that there has been a lot change over the recent years and a good chunk of the original crowd has departed also which is fine, everyone has their own thing or just move on. The popular body style, 97-03, has been gone for 6 years now so these cars have definately aged and been handed down and I see more and more where guys that bought their brand new 97-98-99 GTP to keep forever are now putting them up for sale and dont really want to have anything to do with them anymore and also moving on. Again, more power to you to go your own route and do your own thing, thats what I have always done though I have been in this community since around 02ish and never even owned a 97-03! My wife bought a 95 SE back in mid 99 so that was our play toy since I L67 swapped it in early 03 but I only really gained interest after a good friend of mine bought his near new 00 GTP in 01 and I saw the potential of the engine and trans. Back then things were night and day different and Thrasher and Grand Prix Store were the big companies lol. I have always had a soft spot for these cars regardless and still need to get one-more for testing than anything but have always loved the body style and it isnt something that is going to fall of the map any time soon as they did a great job on the style and it has certainly stood the test of time. i think 97-03's are the coolest looking grand prixs there are. i plan to keep my 2000 GTP hopefully for the rest of my life and build up to being a really sick car! They are just so sleek looking its so cool. I'll never outgrow this car i know that.

I agree, I've had my 99 since 2002 and I picked up a 2000 a few years later. I haven't out grown them yet, there nice car. Very unique around here, you hardly ever see modded GPs around here...

Good news is, they are becoming affordable enough that some of us broke ass adults can afford them now too.

Damn right! LOL. Maybe I should pick up a 3rd! LOL! Actully if I ever find a good solid/clean Pre-Gen or maybe a Turboed 97-03 for a decent price I maybe tempted to add another one to the flock.

Too easy and cheap to maintain and to have a little fun at the same time...
