How do you know if it needs to have new bearings installed? May be better off just buying a high milage one that you know runs ok...Then rebuilding it.

a top swap isnt going to be cheaper than a $350 motor, but a motor that needs to be rebuilt isnt worth $350.

id expect anywhere from $600-1000 for a motor swap and anywhere from $400-800 for a top swap.

With a top swap you will be running higher compression. It can be as reliable as just putting in an L67, but you must have enough supporting mods to run the supercharger. A scan gauge is your best friend.

anything is reliable if you put it together correctly and tune it well. youll need some mods in order to not knock with an l36 block an l67 top end.

Top swap is what I was going to suggest also. Do that, get you supporting mods, and have a heck of a car.

Only thing you will really need to buy is a adapter plate for the throttle body. 90 bucks. And the rest is just putting back the s/c and LIM. That's it really.
