So here it is, I only ask this question because this completely stupid kid who has a junk 96 Riviera supercharged swears to God he can walk all over my 01 gt he even went as far to claim he has already raced and beat my car, this of course is not true I have never raced my car and I never intended to because I care way to much for my car to beat the piss out of it and drive it like a idiot. Buuttttt my question is will a bone stock Riviera walk on my 01 gt with the following "mods", er rockers, hv3, p-log, fwi, ubend delete, zzp tune and to add every bit of my maintenance up to date. Granted the rivi is a l67 it is a much bigger car and beat down beyond belief. Now around here there would never be nothing more than a stop light drag and I get this thing called traction and I pull hard all the way to 6k, I feel like by the time he got traction I'd be in my power and gone. Like I said stupid question/thought as I'll never give him the opportunity to prove it. The only reason I have come to the conclusion I would win all day is because I have seen a gt with almost my exact setup walk all over a stock ssei and the rivi has got to weigh in close to a Bonneville. Ehh wish I was irresponsible enough to just wax his ass and shut him up haha.

the Riviera weighs about the same as a w. It is a bigger car but they used a lot more aluminum in its construction.

Probably, just as a comparison a stock supercharged RIV weighs in at around 3700 and rated at 7.9 0-60mph and a "stock" gt weighs in at at around 3429 and rated at 7.7 to 60 (these are my Google generated numbers, and the internet never lies, right?) but your right he has the torque so I'd probably lose. And nah I'd rather not race the guy, maybe next fall I'll be turbo and I can go to our once a year drag event at the airport and actually be fast.

Btw I guess I'm just ranting because I found this kids Craigslist ad and couldn't help but send him a "interested" email, I was super hype about how his ad says he beats Honda's and Pontiacs and does mad peels that I asked him what kind of Honda's and Pontiacs and he came back with a story about how he beat a local guys riced out maroon grand prix and proceeded to link me to my own Craigslist ad. I got all butt hurt because one he called my car rice, and two why claim a win if it never happened!?

I find my car far from ricey

    His on the other hand

And on a way off note, since when did any se ever look this good? (My Google supplied image of grand prix specs)

if i had to pick one to own, your car wins hands down. his car is a full blown hoopty, that scoop and poorly done racing stripes are killing me lol

it could be worse. ive yet to get more pics of this jem, hes doubled down on the autozone press on chrome crap. (hard to believe i know ) i know a guy who knows him, he thinks its super fast and will beat everything else on the road. and hes not 17. mid 30's for sure,,,time to grow up a little bit huh?

That Riv is a hoopty for sure! But this Mitsu****sy takes the cake. There's a couple of those guys everywhere, the addicted to chrome plastic type. You see those cars and you just think "WHAT A MORON!". Same with the hood scoop on the Riv. Get outta here.

That Grand Prix is looking Rlugo! Fresh wash and everything. Same color as mine. Getting mine repainted that same color soon. The best color on these cars, IMO.

That Riv is rough, but he may have actually done some worthwhile mods. You can race him and find out. Either way, you can go home knowing your car doesn't look like a blind man did the cosmetic mods to it

What are you worried about, just go race him to 60 somewhere safe. Make sure you practice getting a good start so you at least know what you are doing. He could spin up off the line but so what if you lose - your car looks 10x better and they are just daily drivers

I would start telling the kid "why you always bring me junk?" tell him to make it look as good as yours and then you will race him. you could also consider the adage: "if you beat up a retard, what have you accomplished, and who are you going to tell?"

another thing to consider is that the 96 riv has the 4T60, and I am pretty sure it is not tunable, so with those things in mind, I would say you have a shot at winning the race. Also, according to wikipedia, the riv weighs just shy of 3800 lbs, and your GT should be around 3500, so 300 lbs give or take.

96 riv folder with a dhp 1.5 in it, its very possible not all osid's were mapped, but that one should work. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x50s9l6fd...N4eSvJ2Wa?dl=0

Stock vs. Stock 0-60 is margin of error. Modded and tuned(GT) vs. Stock should be a win by the GT. Put on some good tires and see what happens. Just remember low end is what the 3800 does best, if he beats you off the line, there is no way you reel him in.

It is the same car, I posted it in the Craigslist finds thread lol.

And the car has no mods guys it's a bone stock Riviera. If you guys haven't go check out the link to his ad in the Craigslist finds thread it's quite entertaining. Maybe him and the guy with that Mitsubishi should race, his ad says it will do 115 and beats Honda's , Mitsubishi's and Plenty of Pontiacs! Now I will admit my car has some on the verge of rice side stripes you can't see them in my pic because they are black but they are kinda like old school challenger stripes that go from solid to blocks at the end. But they where done by a professional wrap company and look absolutely perfect.
