    Hello,
A little background. Volvo builds fuses into the battery cable. There is a lead that goes to the starter, and a lead that goes to the main fuse panel. The starter fuse blew, and I broke the one going to the Fuse box pulling everything apart.
Volvo requires you to buy the entire cable for over 100$ to get the fuses. I bought some fuses. a 175 for the starter and a 140 for the main bus.

is the 140 sufficient? Adding up the fuses listed in the manual I got an ungodly number over 500 amps so that's not realistic.

The car has Xenon headlights, (high and low beams), heated front seats, electric power steering power windows moonroof etc.

Im trying to figure out if I need to bump up the amperage. I don't want to be driving in the snow, have my ABS kick on for TCC and blow the fuse.

    Any thoughts?

I would think 150-200A is realistic.

When I put a 130A alternator in the Bronco, I was advised to use a 175A fuse; which I did and never had a problem.

So whats realistic for a starter? 3.0 low compression? Wiring diagram said 150, but idk if I buy that. the 175 has worked so far.

I think most starters will draw around 100A once going, but can spike up to 200A to get going. If your diagram says 150, I'd say 150 is fine. 175 will also work, but will just let more heat develop before failing.
