I am actually in the process of rebuilding, adding a turbo, and fuel injecting a 17.5hp Briggs on a riding lawn mower... Once I get the fuel injection down I will more than likely convert to e85 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UHHG3j6pGek something like this but way cooler

that one's too complicated. lol just turbo and intercool, with e85 and a transmission... that's all I'm going for.

You will need a dipper on the bottom bolt of the connecting rod to sling oil up if trying to convert it to horizontal. I did this in highschool with all the engines I had laying around. Ive never seen a plastic cam that's crazy. I have a horizontal shaft engine off of a pressure washer but it's one of the newer ohv ones. I'm going to power an alternator with it for a small generator. The IC engines are way better though. Ball bearing shafts cast iron sleeves. They last indefinitely.

I can pick up a ball bearing conversion for 15 bucks and gaskets for 10.

then some cutting and grinding, a carb for 13 bucks on amazon, and some scrap steel and it'll be running.

I might keep the plastic camshaft, it's causing so much excitement. lol

I have nothing but time, and 50 some odd bucks for a hot rod go-kart engine? eh. lol

I can always sell this one once it's done and buy a bigger one.

What's the furring and gringing for just mount a plate vertically and bolt to that? You will still need a dipper which is just a piece of metal that goes on the bottom of the con rod and it'll work for splash lube like it was intended to.

The oil channels for the cam and crank should be reoriented so they get lubed, and the flicker on the bottom of the conrod, yes.

I'm thinking longevity, too... Especially if I sell it.

I had just stopped to switch to the sanding drum, and noticed the smoke... Guess I'm gonna need a new one, perfect time to upgrade. Lol
