Not really, it's all about gearing in a crawler. So many guys use the 22R 4 banger from toyota just because it's a bullet proof motor. Like 5.xx gears with a double low low transfer case, you could walk faster than it would crawl type of gears.Originally Posted by CrazyGuy03
If you want to do more trail riding that covers more distance and higher speeds, then you'd want a bigger motor and that's where it would be more helpful. I tuned my old co-workers 5.3 swapped rock crawler because he wanted bigger power and for trail riding and not just climbing things. But when he is ripping it up, the extra torque is really helpful from the V8.
