So im moving, and I have the option to get fios internet.
I have Comcast now. Comcast seems to have the price advantage, but I hate them with a passion.
Comcast has good internet but dealing with anyone who works for them is a nightmare.

    Has anyone had both?
Anyone have any opinions on fios? Im looking into the 50/50 package.

    rude I can deal with.
When we moved into my current place a month ago, the first guy who came out said we needed a bucket truck and left. literally 7 phone calls, later I had to try and cancel my service before I could get someone else to come out.

then 2 weeks later a guy comes out, tells us we didn't need a bucket truck (he didn't have one) hooks everything up while cursing and yelling the entire time.
then we wait two weeks for the line to be buried. Now, Comcast instead of applying the $20 from my old house to my new bill (didn't know I owed anything) they sent me to collections.
the ONLY people who actually get anything done are the people who you get when you try to cancel.

I have always heard Comcast has the worst customer service out of any other provider, been that way as long as I can remember. Do people still call them Crapcast?

Comcast is a huge pain in the ass to deal with. When I get a place of my own again I'm going to look into other providers before going that route again.

On the electronics forums I read I know Comcast is hated above all others for horrid customer service and other things. I am infinity grateful we never had to use their service (they're not even out here in the boonies).

I've had Fios for almost 10 years now, excellent customer service and I've never had any tv or internet issues. Never used comcast before but I've also never heard anyone say anything good about then either.

Decided to go with Fios, Just thinking about Comcast makes me angry. Fios also has a lower cost for just internet than xfinity.

Had Comcast for years. Never liked it.
Had dish after that it was good unless it was stormy and in Oregon thats often.
Got fios and never looked back. Customer service is good and i dont need to have a bundle contract to have service.
Even gave me a price lock to keep me loyal. Just internet and land line for me. My home has a million wifi devices and i have no problems running all of them

Funny this thread popped up, I'm calling Verizon tomorrow to do the old "I'm leaving for Comcast" routine to get the price down. I'm happy with the service and everything, but $250 a month is too steep.

04lss, I have the 50/50 Fios and it works great for me. I mostly use it for streaming services, downloading podcasts and surfing the web. Much better than Comcast was in my experience.

I signed up for fios 55 a month all in for just internet with the equipment. Comcast makes me buy cable and internet at 80 all in, and i dont watch cable.
I called comcast and told them to shut it off, and listed so many reasons that the woman on the other side was just quiet, she didnt even try to save me as a customer.
Now im getting stupid phone calls with offers, even after i cancel them theyre still a pain in my a**.

Comcast is the absolute worst... I remember I had an issue with my landline... Waited and waited for the service tech to come on the appointed time. Well after a no show and no notice I called, got someone is India i think, but found out they were calling the landline # to cancel the appointment

    O.o

    that was it...

Anyways, Comcast using compression schemes for their HD so it's not true HD, they use caching schemes for the DL so you really never get the true DL speeds they claim and their CS is the absolute worst and industry wide well known. But they're the largest cable TV supplier in the nation so they really don't give 2 shyts...
