Alright, im still somewhat new and inexperienced in the car world; but one thing i know is that the cooler the air going into the engine, the better the performance.

In talking with my dad the other day about cold air intakes and such, he brought up vortex coolers. I had no idea what he was talking about so i decided to look em up. This is some serious stuff. It's a simple tube with some sort of turbine that separates the hot and cold air. With a supply of compressed air, it can freeze water in no time.

This is one of the best sites I have found on these tubes.
Vortec - Vortex Tubes for Spot Cooling

I dont know where exactly to go from these tubes, but i was thinking maybe a small supply of compressed air that could somehow hook into the intake tubing and make for that much cooler air.

I think im gonna make a phone call or two to the manufacturers and see what kind of results i could expect with a limited supply of compressed air.

What do you think? Could it be done?
