We welcome everyone. Unlike a good portion of Gen II/L67 owners, we're not prejudice against ANY cars. Until I was introduced to CGP/ILGPC, I had never heard or seen of a car platform where enthusiasts of the current generation of that platform were so anti-the generation before them. In fact, gen I w-bodies aren't even referred to as such. Most gen II guys often refer to them as "pre-gen", even though that term makes absolutely no sense. I mean...what does that make the gen III? A "post-gen"?
We have had gen III GPs there on several occasions (including just this past Saturday), as well as gen 1.5 and II Monte Carlos, Impalas, Regals, etc. Hell, we only had 1 gen I at this last meet (a Cutlass convertible), and 4 w-bodies total. Brian G's L67 swap still isn't complete, so he came in his 3000GT VR4, Andrei brought the Bonneville GXP this time, and my sister and her b/f came in their rented Mustang (his GP is in the shop after a ridiculous accident while parked at home; long story). We've had all kinds of cars there, and we couldn't care less, because we are car enthusiasts in general, not just L67/3800 leg-humpers. This is also why we can quite literally sit around for hours discussing cars. Can't say the same for the one time I advertised this meet on ClubGP (last spring), and we literally had an all Gen II GP showing with the exception of one gen I Cutlass sedan, and Faskatts gen III. I've never had a meet go so quick, and end so fast. Guess you can only discuss smaller pullies and headers for the L67 so long before you're bored.
