1999 GP GT 279,942 miles on stock L36, trans is toast. Only upgrade is a K&N drop in filter and Alpine with bluetooth(Bose baby!). I can't wait to tear that crappy tint off and replace with 5% all around. Thinking of rattle canning it flat black. What's your opinions on lambo doors and 20's?

Haha I thought Bill or Scotty would've posted something like that. It was a joke there's no way I'm dropping 2k on doors and rims. I'd rather put that 2k into the motor/trans

To each their own on paint and stuff. But, a good wash, a clay bar, some beer, and a nice wax would do wonders. also, your replacement trans will f#cking hate you on 20's.

The paint is f'd. One of the previous owners must've ran over a fence or large dog wrapped in barbed wire. It's really dirty because I have no gears not even reverse, so I can't take it to the car wash. I refuse to polish a turd. I just wish it had a moon roof

Or it has no fluid left at all.

Seen that on a V8 Olds Aurora. Leaking trans pan, clogged gasket and had a bad FPR. Fixed all that...Added 12~ quarts of fluid, car ran great for another 50k+ miles LOL. That was after the 240k~ it had on it when my buddy got it, too.

Practically none, just some surface rust in the trunk where the spare goes. One benefit of living in a desert I suppose. I was talking to a buddy of mine in Mississippi telling him I should look for rust free cars and haul them east/south

I haven't dropped the pan but when I bought it I knew it was on it's way out. It was throwing a tcc code and shifting weird, like skipping second gear completely. I'm not a moron I check fluids like I check out women. Daily! The day it went out the pump started whining like a banshee. I pulled over checked the fluid, a little burnt but I've been adding to it the days prior. Took off and it was slipping so bad I couldn't stop because I was afraid I couldn't get it moving from a dead stop. Glad I didn't change those solenoids/tcc that would've been $100 down the drain.

Now that's more like it. Yeah not bad but the black on black cooks me to death. Good thing the ac works. But with that L67 who needs ac?

My 97 did this, I changed the trans fluid and filter and put another 30k miles on before I lost 4th gear. With the filter plugged there is no flow to the fluid no flow = no go in a hydraulic trans.
