    Of course lol.

Man I just don't understand KR. I use Shell 91 gas and get 6-8 degrees. Sunoco 93 cuts that in half. Why am I driving a car built in 1999 thats designed for race gas? I was alive then... but I just don't understand. You would need aviation gas from 1965 or something for it, why would that even get built, much less be popular? I'm missing something big here...

93 isn't race gas. Hell 91 is rare to find around here. Its all 87, 89, and 93.

Did I say 93 was race gas? Give me a little credit. Here, 87, 89, 91 and thats it unless you throw in a couple more bucks a gallon. Race gas would be 104, in my mind. 87, 89, 93, and 98 is sold at Sunoco here. They had 104 at pumps until a year or two ago. Somehow I doubt even that would get rid of the KR.

If you supercharge a V8, you don't time it for 1 degree BTDC at WOT. I saw timing at 1 during a pull. Thats just ridiculous, boost or no.

Your willingness to help bull-headed folks grasp reality is truly a virtue, dude.

I see the difference when load / fuel is applied from your example. Is the knock sensor responsible for all retard, or is some of it written in for certain conditions in a stock tune? I mean if the engine has good gas to eat and doesn't need to retard because theres no knock... does it know and can it offer 0 KR? I am beginning to think that KR is not unlike vacuum advance. Thats the only part of an "analog tune (?)" which by default adds a pile of degrees of advance, then takes them away when the foot is heavy. If I can think of it that way, I might progress.

I'll go for it! Plan to swap clusters with the 40th's when the miles line up a little past 135. Needles look newer in that one and its easy to remember +100K.

Well, yep GP down. I have no idea how to diagnose random stalling. Can't throw even one part at it, theres no money. My initial guesses involve removing fuel and ignition system components, looking at and cleaning them and putting them back on and hoping for a change. I am hunting for how to check fuel pressure. Seems like something that could be caused by a clogged fuel filter, but the dash lights dim slightly when it starts to stumble. Whatever it is, it will probably not start before long because going downhill so fast that I think I better work on it in the street so the other cars don't end up blocked in.

The timing I observed really wasn't any different from GT to P. The only difference I could tell was of course the no boost, but aside from that engine and trans temp was the only difference I could spot. The KR might average 2 less on the GT and it is bone stock.
