Thanks! Wish I still had all of them but mostly the A-bodies... Chevelles and the Buick. When I was in HS, those were 8-900 bux like GPs are now. Third Gens had just came out and all the rich blonde chix had em. Whackass posers were sportin mullets and driving smog f bodies while the cool dudes had rusty big block stick cars. But even in 95, I found a damn good running 69 Camaro for 2,500. Its all about timing, and I told my Dad the same thing about wishing I came along earlier. But as it turns out, the crap car era only lasted from 80-95 and it did have an end. At least theres power in the showrooms again and plenty of it.
The Duplicolor rattle can clear is what I've been using in the more recent spot paint repair posts, and it blends in fast with buffing but being a lacquer clear, only so much durability can be expected. It isn't as easy to maintain as real paint but is easy to work with in small areas. Are you using a spray gun with ready-to-spray DC clear? For clarity no pun intended, maybe post up what specific product you're actually considering.
GTP drove great awhile ago. Sat for about an hour after coolant bleed then started it. Ran for a few, stumbled, and stalled in park. No restart. Hmm. Floored it and cranked, nope. Took the intake hose loose, held the throttle open then blew into the TB a little and left the hose off a few minutes. It cleared up and returned to normal. I let quite a bit of sovent go down the EGR tube, figured she found it and said gulp but didn't like it. Heck that might have cleaned up the EGR valve a little, lol. I'll stomp test it later, right now its big inch NA weather for me and Grape. Theres bugs that need killin out on the two lane blacktop that the mainstream forgot.
Betty the GT begins to look proper now (wheels are fair game though), I gave her some general appearance attention today:
