Leave it alone and drive it before you regret it.
blueguy... I wasn't gonna get crazy.. I was looking at zzp upgrade kit.. ecu, pulley, exhaust, etc. I take it these cars don't like being modded a lot ?
Right now. im currently focusing on getting it dependable condition before I do any upgrades.
Is there any weak issues with these cars other than the intake gaskets ?
the cars take being modded without an issue, it's usually the owner that messes it up. and for the love of all things evil and good, look more places than zzp, and I wouldn't give a plug nickel for zzp's "modding/upgrade" suggestions.
LOL james.. ill do that, im a newb so im just trying to see who has quality stuff out there for these cars. Any suggestions other than zzp ?
ZZP product is okay but their suggestions aren't the best. 3800Performance and wbodystore have a lot of the same stuff as well. Just watch the for sale section on here and you will find some pretty good stuff for much cheaper.
check this out if you haven't too. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...00-Powered-Car!!
Read that^.
I typed it for a reason.
Stage kits are total crap.
Intake gaskets, vacuum leaks, hubs, tie rods, axles, motor/trans mounts (for sure), body rot...it's getting to all of them now sadly. Suspension shoots craps at 100-125k, easy. Front sway bar cracks at the ends. I mean, I can go on, lol.
I saw a 04 Grand Prix at 240k with original struts, ball joints, and one tie rod end was original but slightly loose. All highway I'm sure but still impressive. Didn't check the sway bar. Vacuum leaks seem more common on supercharged cars. Sway bar and links, LCA hockey puck bushings, and hubs are the earliest to go though. At least in the salt belt states. My LCA bushings went bad at 115k, but really the collar that the bushing is made with rusted apart and separated.
