Maybe in 2005 it was, the newer one should be good, they use it in a lot of vehicles now

The 3.6 went from crap to decent with direct injection.
In 05 it eats gas. Compare it to an ls4 car and the economy will be about the same.
My dad's 05 srx got 13.5mpg city, 23 hwy. My grandma's 2010 malibu only managed 16 city and 25 hwy. Same 3.6.

that's kind of disappointing. might as well get an LS4 car and have some fun with it. there are a couple grand prix gxp cars I know of for sale right now in the same price range. I think I will just keep the car for sale and see if an individual want's it because I haven't been able to find a car I couldn't live without at a place I could just trade in the Cruze.
I ended up not getting either of those vehicles. There is this S-10 that I think would be a good candidate for an ls swap, but I would have to trade in the Cruze to get it, and I'm not sure if the dealership will give me enough for trade in value on the Cruze, and the price they are asking for this S-10 is high.

Get something with a ls swap already in it..

GM calls this normal wear and tear. car has 21,000 miles on it and the paint is chipping off.

Paid $275 for my notchback. It's just ugly.
FBody Mustang.
Wut.
I'm talking non-GM body lol, notchback, 2.3 auto, LX...like 2700~ lbs. $275. Has some rust. Doesn't run. 1989 goodness.
Man I've been driving a Cruze all week out in thr middle of nowhere Oklahoma and the roads are so straight and long that there's no real reference to how fast you are going. I was doing 96 on accident and figured i would see what it would do and hit 130 before it shut me down (132 gps) and it really wasnt too bad it was smooth seemed to have decent power. If you turn off traction control it'll let you spool the turbo. The seatbacks are little narrow and i dont like he steering wheel angle my knees are too close to the dash and the steering wheel is too far away needs to telescope. I put 830 miles on a Malibu a couple of weeks ago and got 34.4 mpg in it and that was driving from Atlanta 2 hours south then 5 hours north to Nashville then back to ATL. it had a 1.5 and would hae guessed it was a 6. had decent power. scanning with Torque showed ridicously low timing -to single digit and about 6psi. For such a small 4 they arent bad.
