Oh ok a stock 2-3 spring. Gotcha, I'll start looking. I have those exact size spacers in Aluminum, do you thing that would be alright or do they need to be harder?

ZZP makes them out of phenolic so I think it'd be okay.

Ok that'll work then, still having trouble finding the accumulator spring, there's only a 3-4 listed on Rock Auto.

Not a lot going on installed the shift kit as is this weekend since I had time before leaving out of town again. Had the car at the shop and worked on it inside since it was still hotter than two rats ****ing in a wool sock. Helped one of my friends replace motor mounts while the trans was draining. I removed the 1-2/2-3 shift accumulator dealeo removed the cover over the pistons changed out the springs and added the spacers and when I went to assemble it back together and while I was running my mouth I pressed the cover together and it seemed difficult so had my friend hold it while I tightened the bolts. It wasn't all the way seated and as I tightend the bolts down the 1-2 area cracked so I was done for the night. I asked my buddy take take me to the house. In looking at it when I pressed the piston into the bore when it pushed back against spring pressure the rod moved back and when I set the cover on I managed to cock the piston slightly and bind the rod in its bore so that when I tried to tighten the screws it pushed against the cover and was locked in place and damaged the cover. That's what I get for not paying attention. Went to the junk yard on Sunday and pulled another one out of an 04' GTP went back to the shop and it went together a lot smoother. I used a couple of quick clamps to hold it together while I got the screws in reinstalled I reinstalled it back into the transmission, cleaned all the friction material out of the pan and off the magnet and reinstalled it. Boy one thing is that 10 ft/lbs feels tight! I was afraid that I would damage the gasket since I had to replace it as it was an aftermarket gasket without inserts. I went around over and over and finally got to 10 ft/Lbs. I was almost sure that it would leak, but if Billboost says it's good then there's nothing to worry about. Filled the trans with fluid and fired it up shifted to reverse then to drive and it kicked into gear so I eased out and went around the block. It held 1st a little longer than it had previously. Brought it back and checked the level and topped it off. A couple of things I noticed that weren't mentioned in the write up. Don't stick your thumb into the inlet of the filter to try to wrangle it out of the trans you will cut the crap out of it. The shift kit makes it slightly better the trans doesn't feel like a RWD shiftkit at all it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I guess. I opted not to do anything with the tubes since there was so much crap in the pan I am guessing the trans is on its way out. I will end up buying a core and having it rebuilt, or rebuilding it myself. I've never rebuilt an automatic trans before so who knows I'll look into it.

Went to the junk yard yesterday and picked up a set of 2007 Impala 2 piston calipers, brackets, pads and rotors. They literately looked like they were installed then the car was junked. So I have the parts to make the swap but I won't be able to until after this weekend, since I am going to Colorado this weekend.

I also picked a couple of things missing like door lock covers and a mat for the little cubby hole under the AC controls. Also picked up a PCM tray of some unknown car I wasn't paying attention to.

Picked up 2 trans coolers from the Explorer with the heavy duty towing package. I installed one since I didn't have all the fittings for 2 and trans seems to run cooler. I drove to work forgot my wallet came, went back and drove back to work again and the temp just got to 190*

190 is a pretty typical operating temp for the transmission

If it makes you feel better Bill the trans cooler is actually made by Hayden.... And I checked there is no check valve. Lol

Unfortunately I have to leave for Colorado on Thursday and won't be back until Sunday So I won't have time to do them this weekend. Besides have you ever had your Wife ever try to bleed brakes? It's the whole locked/ unlocked trying to get in the car thing. It will give me time to paint the brakes and have the rotors turned. Taking them in at lunch to have them turned. The brakes I think I am going to paint Red. Wanted to do White with Black rims, but they will never stay clean. then I thought about Black, but wouldn't be able to see them and Yellow... well that's too much rice for me.

It was getting into the 210-230 range earlier this year, so we will see how it works out.
