Wanted a thread to post any updates I have. Just picked the car up for $600. Has 53k miles, it's an 04 gtp. Has a reconstructed title but runs and drives fine. Also needed a wheel, sway bar link, brakes from sitting, and possibly a rear wheel bearing. So far I've got a set of 18s to fix the wheel problem and have all other parts ordered. On my phone so I'll end it here and try to slap some pictures up.

    I also have an 07 g6 gtp.

Working on getting pic up with the new wheels. Thanks!

Finally got some parts in. Replaced both rear bearings, one was so bad I could wiggle it by hand. rear pads and rotors, one pad actually fell off of the backing plate so it was just metal lol. Also did front sway bar links and Mobil 1 oil change. Finally, I wanted to hear the supercharger so I threw on an intake. Will be making an enclosure soon and the pipe will be painted black. Here's some pics.

Good deal ($600) lol.. As long as you know nothing is free! : )

From the looks of it, you'll need struts and stuff too!

    good luck!

Yep, still lots of work to do. The struts are actually in good working order they just look horrible lol, once everything it needs is done I'll focus on the appearance/performance. Just wanted to get it in driving condition so I could use it. Looking forward to using all of the knowledge on this site to make this thing awesome.

Just got a code for cylinder 6 misfire. Glad it came on because I could feel it at idle and didn't want to start replacing everything. When these could go bad can it be one cylinder or do both cylinders on the coil go at the same time? I was going to hold off on plugs so I could put the colder plugs in, will the motor be fine with colder plugs without the smaller s/c pulley? I'm also going to throw in some Lucas injector cleaner, I have a new fuel filter too, was thinking the fuel from sitting could have gunked up the system too.

Probably been done here before but, I cut the stock airbox housing in half along the seam. I could possibly put it back together if I wanted to go back to stock but...don't see that happening anyway lol. So now I have a place to mount my computer. Need to take the liner out so I can bolt it in, held with zip ties currently.

Fixed the misfire. Replaced bosch platinum plugs with ac Delco iridiums, the #6 wire was loose so replaced set with ac Delco wires (one of the wires on the car was mopar lol). Also found a vacuum sensor that is bolted to the s/c on the backside near the throttle body was so loose it was about a 1/2 inch out. Runs smooth now.

Always nice to see a car like this getting fixed up! Keep up the good work, and please, invest in some Simple Green for that engine bay, lol.

I'm mostly limited financially and by the weather, I usually have plenty of time on my hands but no parts to work with, or it's pouring rain/cold as poop out and I can't put anything on

Yeah, the only reason I had money to buy parts was because it was so cheap. Tough part is saving up for the go fast fun parts. Tough having 4 vehicles right now lol, hopefully selling my truck soon. Threw the front brakes on today and got rid of the last bit of wobble it had. Drives like a brand new car now....well, you know what I mean lol.

I remember seeing a pair of SLP headers on a gp in a junkyard a while ago. Might see if they are still there. Only issue is I think it was the previous model not the 04+. Any way to make it fit?

If memory serves me well, there are no differences between the two. Some headers have the O2 bung too close to the firewall, though, so if it won't fit, you can just "persuade" the firewall a little bit with a hammer, unless there's a more professional way to do it. Even with the hammer, it looks fine from what I've seen

The headers should still fit. And holy rust.

Yeah rust is bad haha. Stupid old people not driving their cars. Plus side is mileage. It's funny how some things have tons of surface rust and then the sway bar and one of the calipers looks brand new haha
