Finally got around to doing some work on the car today. Ball joints were blown so I just replaced the while control arms on both sides. Got the axles back in and rest of the suspension hooked back up. My uncle who has been a GM mechanic for 20 years was supposed to come by today and help me do some more engine work and get the engine buttoned up, but he bailed on me so that went nowhere. Hopefully he can reschedule and I can get this beast on the road soon.

My friend that was helping me on the car, and I got into a debate about this, maybe someone can help. For those that haven't followed or to catch up... I have the shell of an 01 GT and the engine of a 97 GTP. Which PCM do I use/get tuned to use for the "new hybrid"? The 01 or the 97 that goes with the engine? Third option, can I contact someone that sells PCM's tuned, provide all the info and get a usable PCM? (i.e. w body store or other independent vendor). Thanks in advance for the help.

97 pcm;s are for a 97 car only, so you use the 01 pcm, and have it tuned. key is to use the pcm for the car, not the engine. the engine is just metal and bolts, the car and pcm are the brains.

yes you can get a canned tune, repltile here sells them, as well as zzp and wbs iirc.

Had my friend weld a flange and a piece of pipe on to a MagnaFlow glass pack to replace the resonator. Yes it is long, I'm going to trim it to fit..

to the tranny on the shaft there i think. the other loose plug back there would be the rear knock sensor wire. you got the oil pressure on already

the first pic looks to be the crank sensor plug.

Felt like there was something plugged into the crank sensor already. I'll double check. I got the rear knock sensor plugged in. I'll check more around the trans.

Still can't figure out this purple one. Can someone please help? Trying to get this car wrapped up and on the road. There is a sensor on the axel that has nothing plugged in but this doesn't fit. I don't know if that would be a speed sensor? Would the non-h and HD trans have the same sensor on that axle?

you got the rear knock sensor wire plugged in already?

take a look at the plug end on the non hd tranny see if its different looking. maybe you can swap the pig tail?

It was the trans or axle sensor. The wire colors were the same and the actual plug part of the connector was the same. It was just that housing around the connector that was throwing me off. I took the housing off and it plugged right in.
