Ummm, nope. First, it's gone, sold it. Second, I've upgraded solenoids and 4th gear clutch shaft on this so new axles it is I guess.

Well, last minute trip to Baltimore. My son took a turn for the worse recovering from his bladder rupture/surgery. The docs in Wisco aren't able to properly treat him so we decided last night to get him on a plane and came out to Johns Hopkins Hospital. The saga continues.

On left is my axle from 4t65e Trans and on right is the end that was in the HD Trans when I bought it. Can I just swap this end piece out? If so, how can I do this?

    Hmm, I dunno.

I just know that one axle is longer than the other.

Trying to save my ass on this budget. Got a lot going on if you read back a bit in my thread. Anyways, I might remove the boot and see if it looks like it will swap over. If so, I'll give it a shot. If not I'll either have to junkyard it or suck it up and buy new.

Depending on the clamp holding the boot on, either crimped or tension style, loosen it and pull the boot back. Slide the splined end off and compare them. Don't loose all the moly lube in there until your sure they are a match. From the outside they appear the same.

    Typical coolant elbow crap

    All pieces removed.

    New installed.

Had to remove the oil filter housing when I dropped the engine in so here is cleaned up housing and new Felpro gasket.

I hope you cleaned inside the elbow hole.

ah the filter housing gasket, I put that on when I already dropped the engine it, I found it to be a pita to tighten those bolts with so little room.

Used a light grit sandpaper and then blew it out with the air compressor.

I dropped the engine/Trans in from the top and the filter housing was making it just a little too tight. Put this back on after the engine was in so yeah, turning the bolts was a pita.

Hello, yes, I am still here. Everything has been on hold while we have been getting our 9 year old son healthy again after a pretty major medical issue. He's not 100% but he's getting there.

Anyways, I was able to have my friend come by this last Sunday and we knocked out a bunch of work on the prix. Got the exhaust on, starter, ac compressor, alternator and the rest of the pulleys and whatnot that were pulled off. What's left is pretty much hooking up wiring, vacuum lines, finish exhaust, axles and tune pcm.

I need a boost bypass valve, used, but in good condition, if anyone has one for sale. I will post in the classifieds too.

you can disable it for the time being...

disconnect the wire harness from it and remove the lower vacuum line. plug the open line, leave the bottom BBV port open to the atmosphere.

I'll have to do that until I can afford one after the first of the year. I've found them new as low as 70 online but with 5 kids and Christmas the budget is tapped out. Appreciate the tip.

Yeah, hi, I'm still around. After a full 2014 of medical drama with our son, we haven't started 2015 out much better. For the real freaking icing on the cake, my mother unexpectedly passed away on April 3. I am reeling from the loss of my mom so in some ways my unfinished prix project is far from my mind. On the other hand, I know it would take my mind off of things, at least temporarily. Sigh, life is so fragile. If your mom and dad are still alive, have you told them you love them today?
