as long as your in there why not? there maybe better brands, id wait for other to add their two cents about brands.

Yeah, I haven't researched that too much yet. I just hopped on eBay from my phone and grabbed the first link I found for an example. This morning was actually the first time I've read in to those solenoids so still some research to do but seems logical w/the Trans opened up/drained...
im no tranny guy, but theres a few here who would know whats best to change while its open. pcs and tcc for sure.
i would for sure add a shift kit too. why not right? they are like 40 bucks on e bay these days.
A saying goes... If It ain't broke don't fix it... So I wouldn't go and start replacing and adding harden parts. Now a shift kit... Good idears.
See, that's where my debate lies too, it's not broke (well that I know of) but it is a part known to fail AND if it fails in the future I'm dropping the cradle, supporting engine etc etc trying to replace it. So in that regard I guess I'm leaning towards doing the 4th gear and shift kit...
its much easier to work on the tranny out of the car, thats for sure.
4 th and the shift kit for sure. shift kit will be easier if done while in the car if you dont have a bracket to put it on a engine stand. the the solenoids are right there asking to be taken out lol seems like a no brainer.
I think I've read two different statements now, one saying 04 and new trans have the hardened 4th and one saying 03 and newer...anyone know which is accurate?
Sent from my Tab3
Triple edge performance says GM started using the hardened 4th in 2003. Are they the definitive source, I mean besides GM? Does that mean the 03 engine Trans I'm buying may have it or does that mean GM would have used it in 03 for 04 model years? Just trying to figure if I'm setting myself up for more work than I may need to...
I would like to keep an eye out at the local JY's for a strut tower brace. There are stock ones from Buick I believe that will fit on an 01 prix correct? Is there a brace for the rear strut towers too? I've tried searching a bit in the forums but only using tapatalk so I will actually have to log in and do an advanced search otherwise to figure this out.
Uh not really lol.. Check out the website and you'll see. If you have something to cut and make them with do it!
Could just keep it simple and borrow a set.. And trace them out and bam!
