i keep looking at it thinking that it looks low enough....then i look at pictures of them lowered and i hate the stock ride height again, haha.
do it already then......
i'll do the lowering springs and wheels at the same time next spring. not in a rush to spend money right now.
Baby's be expensive
new poly trans mount ordered and the red poly motor mounts sent back to trade out for blacks (not as high durometer poly, 80A versus 95A).
got quoted $255 for the springs (H&R) from my local parts guy. then i'll have to get spacers for the rear shock mount so it doesn't jack the car back up trying to keep the rear ride height correct. might buy a 3/8" rubber sheet and cut out a ring for the rear springs so they don't go quite as low as they usually do for the rear only. race stance.
then i'll have to figure out a time when my brother is available so that i can get some shop time and get all of this done.
after that all, probably later this year, i'll replace the diff bushing and the rear cradle mounts for poly units to stiffen up the rear end and actually make the car semi-driveable. from there we'll see how everything works and how it drives. the last piece there is an issue is the drive shaft. the center carrier bearing (two piece drive shaft) likes to wear out, wobble around, and make terrible squealing noises (which it is doing randomly now) so i might just go for a single piece aluminum driveshaft and be done with it.
ahhh...being poor...
Definitely go one piece. My Camaro had a 2 piece driveshaft. I've driven a couple LS1 cars with 1 piece driveshafts and they didn't vibrate any more or less than the 2 piece
the single piece drive shaft will not only eliminate a problem bearing in the middle of the stock drive shaft that "isn't serviceable", but it will clean up some of the slop in the drive line. the aluminum one has a critical speed of 140mph, whereas the carbon fiber is 250mph. i don't see myself ever doing over 140mph in my car.
I just installed my whiteline trans bushing amazing! And steelbraided clutch line and Barton short throw with 2 post bracket. Bro, its a whole different car
BRO.
Haha I don't remember typing bro
i keep debating about selling my bobber (i don't get to ride it anymore with having to take charlotte anywhere and i'm sick of seeing it sit there) and re-purposing it to a bunch of bolt on parts for the V. stupid, right?
I'd sell it and buy car parts before it gets sold for baby needs, they only get more expensive the older they get.........
i'll still have my black bike. i don't think i'll ever sell that one.
Right keep the Kawi the other would have a for sale sign mod for V parts if it were me.
can i ride it before you sell it for bags :D
diaper bags???
OHHHHH wait you mean air bags?
air bags. for a car.
but that'd waste the entire sale of the bike...
but then you have bags to play with, tail dragging is still entertaining to me
looking at headers and an exhaust to compliment it...
i'm going to need to sell my bike in order to fund it anyway, hah.
you just got that bike!!!
