I just bolted the filter to the rubber tube.

I trimmed off the excess that wasn't needed on the factory piece.

And yes, remove the entire box and/or the tube, and install the cone filter. The IAT sensor can go close to the filter, it's gonna be hot regardless where you mount it really, so just zip tie it somewhere.

(excuse the dirty filter) only problem I'm having is the cone keeps vibrating off and causing a service engine soon light for a vac leak

Buy a rubber coupler and pvc pipe and it won't come off anymore.

Ya I'm leaning towards that but it will have to wait till the end of the week. Also flipped the dog bones bushings because I was bored and it was super easy

Blower resistor and motor maybe? Mine just went out a couple weeks ago, I replaced those and now it works better than before.

I have a problem sometimes when I get up to about 40 mph it seems like the rev limiter kicks in but ik it's not that. If I shut it off look at open the hood look and start it again it's just fine. Idk what to think. The abs light comes on as well it wasn't on when it did this then after I shut it off and turned it back on the light came on an it was just fine?
