3.4L DOHC + turbo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3.8L + turbo
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not all opinions are created equal. For example, you have selected the least popular GP out of the 3 gens of w-bodies, and to top it off, with ricer....err...."racing" stripes on it. It's hard to take the opinion of such a person seriously.
If they weren't so hard to find in good shape these days, I'd much rather take the aggressive body styling and cladding of the Gen 5 GPs (especially the TGPs/'91-'93 with the B4U package) vs. the cookie cutter, dime a dozen looking, shape/styleless Gen 6 or 7. I only bought my '01 GTP 6 or 7 years ago out of convenience (much easier to find one of those in good shape/lower miles than a Gen 5), and even then, I specifically looked for a Special Edition or 40th to try to add SOME kind of styling to the boring grocery getter looks of the '97+.
Also, until recent years, the LQ1 was the most powerful n/a V6 motor GM had made (215hp/220lb-ft tq in '96/'97). It wasn't until they started turning out DOHCs again and really concentrating their R&D on them that they finally beat the hp/tq of an engine they stopped making in '97. And they respond VERY nicely to turbos.
Not to mention they sound wicked at any RPM, unlike the horrid sounds the 3800 makes regardless of exhaust set up.
