Thank you Dsmuts (and my mother-in-law)! My early Christmas present was the new LCA Dsmuts has. I will be driving my baby, dent and all again by the end of this weekend!
I'd rather not lose period. No one gets "cool" points at the dragstrip because you worked on your own car and no one sure as hell gets bonus points at car shows because they did their own work. First is first no matter what and last I checked shops never build it the way they want. It's always built how the customer wants. I always laugh at the people who brag how they built their own car when it's the slowest thing on the strip.
I don't go to the drag strip. It's all about the work you do your self and that people need to respect what others drive no matter what because that's their money their blood and sweat and all auto enthusiasts should stick together. I'm gonna build my
Car for my needs and no one else's
And I am doing all of this to my car because it is going to be my daughter's first car. In 2023 when she gets her license, she will be rolling a fresh 96 GTP and the kids will be jealous...unless cars fly by then, then they will probably laugh at her.
You must live in a ****ty place where people hate one another. Around here no one really cares what you drive or what you've done to your car. However, I'm not going to roll up to a Mustang meet in any of my cars, park next to them and expect them to respect me. Likewise I'm not going to roll up to a "sports car meet" in my Grand Prix, park next to a Viper and expect them to respect me. I'm still going to go to the meet, but I'm sure as hell not going to "show off my car" if it doesn't fit in. That's called being disrespectful to the other enthusiasts. I always find it funny that the guys who "show off" their car by popping their hoods at meets are typically the ones that have the least amount done. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't be proud of your car, but there's a time and place for that.
And you are building your car for your WANTS not your NEEDS.
No, they are probably just going to laugh anyways cause it will be a 27 year old car by then.
Phaw! I didn't see anyone laughing in 96 when I pulled up for 1st day of junior year in my grandma's 64.5 Mustang.
You are just like a downer Dave. Always have something negative to say.
Edit: Ntreftz - hells yeah!
People's taste in cars change as people do, Daily. I don't think any one is going to miss certain cars from '96 but this is going to be rare to see even in the next 5 years, let alone 10. the cars fore-mentioned were 27 years old now, just as a reference. those cars were not the fan favorites without the knowledge that we know now, but now every gear head respects them. As I believe we will respect a pre-gen gtp in ten years.
Likely the V6 3.4L will be one of the biggest gas guzzlers on the road. Wouldn't that be funny for us V8 people?
Why so much hate on this thread? The butt hurt people need to stop hating
Seriously to each his own
I think the point he was making is that the way vehicles are trending now-a-days we won't see too many guzzlers around in ten years
