    Before:

    After:

I sold my 04 Comp-G and picked up an 08 GXP a few weeks ago and I must say I will never look back. Now before you drill me saying things like "No mods for LS4" or "Too expensive to mod LS4" or "Comp-G can be faster than GXP for a little bit of money", all I have to say is "To each their own"

I had my eye on a GXP for a long time. I got my Comp-G in 08 as an off lease and I could not afford the GXP at the time. My Comp-G had high miles so I was able to score a good deal on it but I always missed out on alot of things that I really wanted for my Grand Prix. I have always been a Pontiac guy and I think my two favorite cars Pontiac made were the G8 and 04+ Grand Prix. Having been with my GXP for a little over two weeks I am able to give my pros and cons between my two cars.

Pros: Power, V8 Sound, Body Style, Dual Zone Climate, Swade, Chrome accents, Monsoon, LED Tails the previous owner installed, the looks I get driving down the road, did I mention the sound?

Cons: Fuel mileage, no whine, not as cheap to mod, little more expensive to insure, small car payment.

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. In the end that is really all that matters. I am not looking for a race car. I know that for a few grand I could really wake up my Comp-G but I would be unhappy with the cons too much to enjoy. My Comp-G was just real basic. That is just me. I have the utmost respect for all Grand Prix owners out there and hope some respect goes my way as well.

    Cheers.

Not a huge fan of the wheels, needs stock ones and some tint.

Would really help that car out.

Otherwise, intake/tune/shift kit/trans cooler/exhaust. Would be about as good as a 3.4"~ setup car.

I know the sun makes the picture a bit washed out. I will try to get some good daytime/night time shots. The emblem on the lower right is an "LS4 Grand Prix" badge. Those LED tails are noticeably brighter than my old stock ones.

I've toyed around with the same idea with my Comp G recently, whatever mufflers are on my car right now that they came with make it have a nice throaty growl without being too loud to get raspy, but I'd love to have the solid roar of a nasty v8. It's easier to turn heads in town with a little blip of the gas and get a v8 to roar a little, rather than hammering the throttle hard enough to make the blower whine, lol.

I dont think I'd be able to leave the whine behind though, I fell in love with it when I got the Comp G.. and my comp G has the heated seats, monsoon, moonroof, leather, etc.. all the nice little things... so I think I'll just keep mine for now!

Grab some nice headlights from Intense. Get some bigger wheels, those look too small for that badboy, get 18's. Tint it up a little and see if you could get a nice hood. Black is definitely the sexiest color.

You'll have people thinking you payed $50k for some sports car, lol.

Tint on the wish list. The wheels I am on the fence about. I wanted to blackout the stock wheels if I did get a GXP but this car already had black wheels so I will keep them for now. My next set of tires will have bigger wheels. Not really worried about power atm but I will make a list I am sure.

See above about the wheels and tint. Headlights are on the long list as well. Need to get through the holidays before I get serious about anything.

I am with you about the tint. I am planning on blacking out everything. But one thing at a time.
