i just thought there was a rule about adding aftermarket lighting
This is directly from their rules page.
3.J.9 Glass, Headlights, and Taillights. Driver's- and passenger's-side front windows must be open. Headlights, taillights, and sidemarker lights must be removed or taped over. 3.J.9.a Brake Lights. At all times, each car must have at least one working brake light that is easily seen from the rear. The light should be located where a mild rear-end impact won't break or obscure it. Good spots include inside the rear windshield area; on top of the parcel shelf; and on the deck at the base of the rear-windshield area. Stock brake lights protected by clear tape are fine.3.J.9.b Headlights for Night Racing. In the rare case of a night race, headlights may be required. See the Event Page of the race that you've entered for details. 3.J.10 No Flashing Lights or Sirens. No working sirens, flashing lights, or similar emergency vehicle stuff allowed. Anything that could make your car be confused for an actual emergency vehicle will get you black-flagged.
Thanks, this thing is massive....with 1" lock nuts and heim joints. I been hearing about it endlink ends needing to be modified but nothing I can't handle
Moogs in the rear, I have the Moogs for the front and poly bushings, it's just the front is under 8 inches of snow right now...
Right before I greased up the endlinks:
I put the keepers on the inside (included with the bar), but I made sure the bar was somewhat centered before I tightened them down. My finger fits snug inbetween the side of the rear sub frame and the bar on both sides, so it's centered enough, lol.
Well after being on hold for a while, due to getting married last month and planning a honeymoon, things are getting back on track. Had to order up some new longer sanding roll mandrels to get deeper into the intake ports, I just finished porting the last head and assembled it today. Had to order a new AC Delco L67 fuel pump module and install a new AEM E85 pump. tested before pressures and had 47psi running and 54psi with the vacuum line disconnected and a major pressure drop with just the key on engine off, after swapping in a new module with the upgraded pump and hot wire installed I'm sitting at 53psi running and 62psi with the vacuum hose disconnected, best of all no more pressure leakdown when key on engine off. Very happy with the upgrade.
Looks like it's a no go on the Addco rear 7/8" sway bar, no stock available from Summit Racing and no other vendors are carrying it so we will be sticking with our stock GMPP rear bar for now. Ordered some more stuff from ZZP to do the swap to S/C like the adaptor MAP harness, 2 New GM drive axles, trans bushing and seal kit, and will be switching to Dexron HP full synthetic fluid thats used in the 2015 Z06 Vette which is a step up from just the Dexron VI. Only have a few more items to sort out like checking pushrod length and ordering the correct length pushrods, and tune the PCM, get new belts and should be done. More updates and pictures to follow.
91Parkave was doing something with a Camaro sway, it needed some custom work though. I heard somewhere that he got it done, but I never checked with him. Congrats on the wedding! Now the fun begins.
Thanks buddy, I married my best friend and love her to death, kinda helps that she's a car chick too, she has her own 1973 Z/28 Camaro along with a huge MAC top and bottom tool box too. Kinda gave me a complex when I first saw it. Trying to talk her into racing on the team too since she's totally into it, just need to buy her all the race gear.
Everything looks so clean and shiny and new! Can't wait to see what kind of power this thing puts down! Rock on!
Love your car been following this thread for a while. The BMR STB are nice but the rear can be a ***** to get on.
How much do the holes need to be opened? I didn't do that before installing mine and have been having a clunk back there I can't find. Think this could be it?
Just enough to fit the endlink bolt through, nothing major. If you were gonna have any problems it would have been on the installation, the endlink wouldn't have fit. Have you checked the keepers on the bar? They might be loose and causing a clunk back and forth.
I'll jack it up and check it out. I had no problem installing the endlinks on it which was why I was kinda surprised reading that. Anyway, I don't wanna thread jack so if I can't figure this out I'll be starting a thread.
After getting my Addco rear sway bar in last week and Moog rear end links, finally got time to install it today at work. No modification was necessary on the bar side as others have mentioned, I did notice that Moog has re-designed their end link for the rear, comes with 2 90* zerk fitting making service easier than the older strait design and the grease cover boot seems to be tucked inside vs. the original design that was an outer cover.
