Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I think I have it fixed now. I changed out the tensioner assembly entirely, I actually used the one out of a 99 Camaro with a 3.8 because it has the option for 2 coolant elbows, not just 1. Anyways, the only difference I saw in the tensioner itself is that it has less play (front-to-back) than the old one. Pretty much the same tension, just less play. I think what was happening was that the belt was moving back and forth just a little bit, causing the belt to be misaligned just a little bit...randomly. Anyways, once it was changed, no more squeak...for now, lol.

Well for the first time in 2 weeks, my f*cking ABS and TCS OFF lights came back on. They came on once a yesterday, and then again this morning. I tried pulling codes with my friend's MT2500 with no avail. I've also tried pulling codes with a Tech II with no results. I'm about to pull the f*cking bulbs.

Wheel bearings!!!!..........
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
all new, all tested at the EBTCM connector itself, new EBTCM, and new portions of the harness itself. Oh and something NO ONE has been able to explain. When the TCS and ABS is working, I have a speedometer in neutral. When it's not working, I have no speedometer in neutral. This was on both EBTCMs I've tried, although the one currently on the car is the only EBTCM I've ever seen WORK.

Picking this hood up on Sunday for $200, it'll get painted this summer with a new fender, rockers, etc.

I'll be getting more off the car as well, but the hood for sure.

There's a bunch of parts ordering going on right now, lol. Waiting to hear back on headers, and I just ordered a 3 -way crossover with a 7 volt line driver. I also just ordered an Android 4.1 based Double Din, which I am VERY excited about. I'll be doing some kickass stuff with this thing:

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Just read this whole thread. Alot of helpful tips in here. Nice job.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Where are you located in missouri? I just picked up a white sd hood if you would like to trade to save some monies. Well that is of course if the paint on that hood is really nice lol. Just a thought....
Anywho the car is coming along nicely.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Just got back from a pretty good road trip, about 4 hours total driving. I originally was driving up to buy my new hood, an SD for $200. Guy was parting out a Black GTP with a blow motor. My friends that offered to help flaked out, so I went and picked up my dad and glad I did. I pulled my hood off and drove to his house (60 miles), then we took his AWD CR-V to go get the hood. The thing I didn't know was the car was in a mud pit...my car would NOT have made it. So we get there and we pull the hood, and I also buy his climate control head unit thing. Mine works, but the buttons are worn and you can't see the fan controls. Then I walk around the car and see that he has exhaust tips. I'm replacing my entire exhaust very soon, so I decide to buy them too. He brings me some wood and his jack to jack the car up, I jack it up and see Borla mufflers. Long story short, I bough the SD hood, Borla Mufflers, the polished exhaust tips I wanted, and a spare climate control unit for $270 cash. Then my dad and I went back to his house and put the hood on. All-in-all, a very good day, here's some pics:

Hood's paint is chipping in a few places, but I don't care, I need to have it painted anyways. In fact I think the paint under the black is white, it's white where the black is chipping off:

That'd be awesome! But I wouldn't do that to you, lol. It's chipping in a quite a few places, it far from really good condition. The hood itself is solid, so that's all I was really looking for. I'm going to have quite a bit painted on the car this summer when I fix the rust, so the hood is just another thing on the list.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Nice sweet deal you landed
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Ordered even more stuff today, here's the list of stuff I plan to do during this round of upgrades:
6.2" touchscreen Android Based double din DVD player\MP3\WMA\ETC. (En route)
Infinity 475a 4 channel Amplifier (En route)
Infinity Kappa Components 6.5" (EN route)
3-way crossover with 7 volt line driver (En Route)
GMPP Rear Sway (En Route)
SD hood (Installed, needs painted)
2 Borla Mufflers with dual 3.5" tips (purchased, need install)
30" Glass pack (need to purchase)
SSAC headers (deal pending)
Plumbing for the exhaust (done during install)
Install kit for the Amplifiers\crossover (need to purchase)
Tinting (need to have done...I HATE tinting)
Send EBTCM off (need to purchase\do)
Repair TCC solenoid in transmission (waiting on weather to warm up, and more than 1 day off a week)
So my ABS lights came back on. again. This time I had my buddy try to pull codes with his Tech II and it actually worked....I got a C0550 code...which means the EBTCM is screwed. So basically it finally worked to tell me it didn't work! I also have some pipe dreams to buy, like DHP, Remote start, etc. Those things will come, but probably not right now...I'll fund it with more overtime at work. Needless to say, I think I have successfully brought this car back from the dead. Now I just need to find time to install and fine tune and customize all this sh*t. In June I'm driving it to AZ (1400 miles one way) so I hope to have all the kinks of everything worked out by then...reliable Android DVD player stuff (more on that later, it'll probably be a challenge), ABS\TCS, tune, exhaust, etc. OH and the rust repaired. Damn. I better get to work.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Thanks! just got back from getting the windows tinted! 35% up front (legal) and 5% in back, make it look like a totally different car! She really needs a bath though, and I'm gonna wait a few days for the tinting to cure before I wash it. I know the tint is on the inside and the wash shouldn't hurt it, but I'd rather be safe.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Legal tint?
Who does that lol. Your a law abiding citizen huh :)
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Nope, but I just got a tint ticket for my truck, lol.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Be a rebel stick it to the man!
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I've had friends that try that...you'd be surprised how many $80 tickets they give out before they start getting annoyed with it and think about giving up, lol.
