Thread: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged

Well this past week I've been collecting everything I need for this weekend. The fsic and 1.9 HS rockers will be going on Saturday n Sunday. Hopefully all goes well!
I'll be doing it at my grandparents garage a few miles up the street with a lot more knowledgeable buddy of mine. He has an 05 comp g with an xp hot cam, built trans all that stuff. So he's tore the motor down a few times.

Wiring, belts n more tools

Few boxes full of stuff, wiz aired intake, ic core, Bosch pump, tubing, all the fittings, dremel, drills, etc.

Some paint, wire loom, bolts, clamps, etc.

More brake cleaner, valve spring compressor, compression tester, valve cover gaskets, injector o rings.

220 PC craftsman mechanics set I just picked up

home made egr block off plates

Rockers should be here tomorrow

Fuel rails, modded lim, ic core.

Secretly have 2 full ic sets, my buddy is interested in the other, if he doesn't want it eventually, it will be for sale.


last but not least, I got my older style lca's. I still need to get a front sway bar for the coilover installation now. I ordered coilover covers also, just haven't got them yet.

Where did you get the LCAs? I am going to need to snag some once i do my bags... sucks cause i just replaced all my damn ball joints and bushings on mine lol

Got em from rockauto for like 40 bucks a piece plus shipping. Check part numbers on ebay tho also, my mom had to order a bunch of stuff n we used a 5% off coupon as well so shipping was combined. These are the 97-03 style too for the sway bar connection.

And I'll be taking plenty of pictures. I have red to bug too if I have any questions lmao.

No big deal lol....hope you enjoy. I think that rocker package was an absolute hell of a deal. I wish back in the day when I did rockers I was able to get them for that price.

Just an FYI....I've found that this type of spring compressor is way faster and easier IMO. Just went to Home Depot or Lowe's to get a few washers to make this one work like a charm

Alright man, I appreciate it. I think my friend has that one. Luckily I just rented that n the compression tester from autozone n didn't buy em. It seems like it'd be much quicker too!

Ask Dan...I think he was even shocked at how easy it was to do springs. That tool worked great....I've used both in the past and after using the bar style I'll never go back.

It's a cheap $10 tool or so.. I also have one grabbed it when the pos autozone tool kept breaking

I have it pretty much all the ic fmhe bolts n pump. N the rocker bolts, pretty sure I seen people use loctite. If not what are you talking about?

And yeah I have the tape for the fittings..not the sealant paste stuff.

Rocker bolts already come with a bit of locktite on them don't use anymore or risk stripping or breaking a bolt. As long as you torque them down properly you'll be fine. Thread sealant... use that on the lim bolts so there's no chance coolant can flow out the bolt heads... Is it necessary nope.. but it's preventative maintenance while your there.
